Stay Away. It took nearly 2 weeks for them to fix outlets in kitchen after I moved in (when they had 2 months advanced notice I would be moving in). Doors were damaged upon moving in, and I get the feeling I'll end up having to pay for it when I leave. Windows locks don't work and the windows hardly open as it is. For having a "no pets" rule, I know the tenant next door owns 2. Only thing consistent is the lack of quality. Do not rent here.

Horrid rental to deal with in ALL aspects of Landlord/Tenant issues. They refuse to do required maintenance. They DO NOT adhere to New York State Tenant Rights. They try to cheat tenants, at everything. Example: They make you do autopay rent. And they charge the tenant for autopay service monthly, in addition to forcing the tenant to use the service. AVOID Yorktowne Property Management for your rental needs.

I've never lived here, but the no pet rule is very unfair. It should be interviewing tenants 2 observe there situation. I just sold my home on interior look alone. I pride myself on being OCD.. in my home!!

Rent has been on time (auto pay) since moving in. AC went out in the middle of summer (hottest July on record, anyone?) and not only was the maintenance crew incredibly difficult to work with, they didn't solve the problem. We were lectured about how expensive it would be to fix, and told to deal with it until they got someone out here several days from now. They also hung up on us after we stated we have a two year old in the house and that wasn't an acceptable answer.

Following that, I called the property manager Daren, and received a similarly poor attitude and unprofessional approach to the issue. I was lectured again on the expense of the repair and informed that the situation would only be different if it was heat in the middle of winter, as AC is a luxury. When I informed him that we PAY for that luxury, and I expect compensation for poor maintenance, as well as informing him that heat stroke is a real problem, Daren told me I was crazy and that he couldn't get down to that level of thinking. I was also informed that the temperature outside wasn't hot enough to warrant AC, (80°F in Binghamton @ 9am). While I'm sure his personal residence suffers no such absence of luxuries, apparently that same care isn't extended to his rental property.

All in all, excluding other complaints and violations of privacy, the renting experience has been poor, the management and maintenance people are incredibly unprofessional and don't even pretend to care about their tenants well being or health. It's a constant fight to get anything fixed in a reasonable time frame.

Not great communication (things like announcing that all cars need to be moved Monday morning for parking lot work but then starting the work Friday afternoon instead, thus trapping some cars and being a general nuisance), and why do we have to get pet insurance through your agency if we're just going to forfeit the deposit for any pet damages anyway? Not to mention we had to make our own key copies in the beginning because we couldn't get someone to take care of it for us (despite being told twice that they would provide the other set of keys for us).

The Wedgewood building is cheaply built, so you can hear everything your upstairs and downstairs neighbors are doing all the time, even just walking. Not to mention they probably don't actually run the background checks, seeing as we were approved within hours of applying and some of our neighbors were... interesting. Laundry room recently got new washers and dryers, but they didn't measure apparently because there's not enough space to even turn around in there. Doesn't matter anyway, since the coin machine never works to begin with.

I will say that maintenance was great, they came right out and fixed our issues with a smile. That was the only positive for me.

All in all, not really worth the headache in my opinion.

I have had a great experience as a tenant with this company. When a issue arises they have a portal where you can leave your situation that needs attention and they have been there the next day to correct it. I would recommend them to friends or family if they need a place to rent.

Daren and Gabriella are a joke. Payed rent to Gabriella threw the covid relief and she is claiming they never received it and now NY is investigating her. Second the maintenance man tried to fight me and when I got in his face he turned into a scared child threatening to call the police. Then Daren tried to get involved until he was put in his place. Yorktown is a joke! Rent somewhere else.

Darren, owner is cheap and Frugal.Like pulling teeth to get anything fixed! Garrenteed to raise rent to MAXIMUM! Major water boiler problems! Always floods in basement! Think twice about giving him your money!
