Authentic everything!! Deli counter with authentic meats, cheeses, sausages, and freshly prepared sandwiches. I swear by the homemade hot Rueben sandwich $7.99 Wednesday special its the best thing. Fresh breads and bakery items. And Thursday is the schnitzel sandwich it somehow tops the Ruben. If you don't believe me. Go try for yourself. Don't forget the German cheesecake or the plum cake! Mouthwatering!

The market offers authentic German fare. The bread and pastries are pretty good. Good selection of deli meats and cheeses and other items - either pre-sliced and packaged or cut to order. I recommend to go early as they sell out fast.

Words nor pictures do this bakery justice. We were originally recommended this place by a sweet, older European woman while at the commissary who noticed we were buying spaetzel. She said Wimberger reminded her of bakeries back in Europe and we had to try it and we are thankful for that interaction.

Charged over 30% tax! My bill totaled $11.25. I was charged $3.44 in tax. One lady who helped bag pastries was friendly. The other was dismissive. I enjoy the pretzels but I will not go back.

It's been a minute since I've been here because of the drive, but I just have to give a shout out to Wimberger's Old World Bakery.

A little while back I was visiting my then 96 year old German great grandmother shortly before she passed. She was born in Wisconsin but her parents were fully German immigrants who arrived in the 1910s, and so she grew up as a little girl eating German cuisine regularly. I wanted to surprise her with some things from her childhood, and her reaction was absolutely priceless. (It had been decades since she had any of these snacks and pastries) The people there were very nice helping me chose things she might have had as a child, and her face lit up when I gave her the basket of treats while she told stories about eating each thing she tried. Really appreciate the quality and service offered here. The food is delicious and the German snacks and candies were great too.

If your craving a little or a lot taste of a GERMAN deli and bakery this is the place to go.
They have cheese and meat plus great baked items like cinnamon rolls and pretzels.
They have yummy candies and also other food items from Germany.
I had the daily special and it was great. Just wish they had some curry fries, but I won’t hold it against them.
If you’re in the area stop by.

Wimberger's has been a part of my family's life since we moved from Munich in 1974. My mother, Renate, would always gather Kaisers, brot, meats, wieners, and cheeses, along with marzipan and other sweets, for Christmas Eve. Regular trips during the rest of the year were always highly anticipated.

I'm happy to say that the traditions still hold. I make my annual pilgrimage for Christmas Eve supplies and, though much less frequently, try to visit during the rest of the year as best as possible. The foods are always genuine, fresh, and a reminder of Germany. Service can be difficult on holidays, but the staff has always been hard working and patient.

Best Kaisers this side of the the Mississippi, maybe this side of Munich.

We went on Saturday for the first time and bought some onion bread, schnitzel, and veal bratwurst. We loved the onion bread and though we have not had a chance to try the schnitzel or bratwurst yet we loved the store and plan on returning soon.

Edit:

We went again today June 6th, 2024 to try the Schnitzel sandwich and it was fantastic. I even got to take a few pictures as well.
