Very friendly, really interested in hemp oil class. It was over but they were really nice. She came out even though it was 8 pm. She asked if she could help, was very relaxed, responded to all our questions and invited us to return soon. Great experience

This is a horrible place to pick strawberries. I've lived in the Southtowns for over 40 years and I've never been to Weiss Farms to pick strawberries. When my daughter suggested that we go there I remember thinking "I don't think they allow children." but I figured my daughter knew so off we went. She from further south and me from Hamburg.

All I can say is that I felt like we were treated like criminals, not customers. They HAVE relaxed the rules for children. They now allow children 3 and over to pick but don't go there with a baby (as in family outing) that you intend to put in a child carry pouch because babies are not allowed. Don't move from the row they gave you or you'll be told to go back. As a matter of fact, don't go too far down the row you are given because you "missed" some. And heaven forbid if you have a bad knee or back problem. This is not the place for you. Their rows are narrow and they don't allow any sitting. Heck, I used to sit on a piece of cardboard 40 years ago. It's not allowed there because they put the rows so close together you might crush a few. Sadly they don't have a handicapped row. You must be young and healthy with no aches or pains in order to pick there. If you break a "rule" they will "police" you. We actually heard one of the workers say she was going "out there to police them" My goodness, now I'm a 70 year old criminal! To make matters worse, it cost us almost as much to pick a flat ourselves as it would have cost to have them picked for us. As a matter of fact, we got 2 flats the week before for $6 LESS per flat.

In addition, their outdated accounting is crazy! They weigh your container - even if you use standard baskets and a standard strawberry case. I believe they should know the weight of those items. They record it on a 2 part form and give you half but when you return they have to flip through the books to find their copy. They also do each part with a calculator and a hand written receipt which they sometimes don't give you. If there is a mistake they will say they gave it to you and will refuse to look up their copy. We believe we were charged for the baskets and case that we brought with us. That's they only thing we can think of to justify the high cost of our flat. We also know of at least 2 people while we were there that were given the wrong change. That is BAD. This is just basics.

The only good news is that their berries were sweet and prolific so picking went fairly quickly; however, with the employee attitudes that all strawberry pickers are out to get them and need to be "policed", it's not a pleasant place to go. Hey Awald's & Bowman farms we're headed your way next time!
