As a frequent traveler, I know to expect a certain amount of price escalation in remote locations like Peach Springs. I'm not sure what kind of special discounts the locals get, but nothing prepared me for the price gouging of the Walapai Market.

We came to town for a rafting trip and stayed at the Hualapai Lodge across the street. Before leaving town we figured we would grab a few cold sodas as we had several hours of driving ahead. A little shocked to find that the only soda was sitting warm on the shelf, but that was nothing compared to the shock of the price. A six-pack of 500mL Mt Dew bottles was $11.50 (nope, that's not a typo). The same product you might buy at home for about $3-$4. For a moment, I wondered if a stock offering from PepsiCo was part of the purchase. We chalked it up to part of vacation travel, paid for the soda and left.

A few miles down the road we cracked open one of the warm bottles and thought that even for Mt Dew, it seemed a little flat. Upon further inspection, the soda had expired more than a YEAR ago. So lesson learned, if you're planning to visit Peach Springs, bring EVERYTHING with you that you might need, even the little things, or be prepared to be taken on a once in a lifetime shopping experience of historical food and beverage products and leaving with a substantially lighter wallet.

If year-old expired Mt Dew was selling for around $14.50 / gallon I can only imagine what Walapai Market charged for gas at the pumps outside. I was glad we filled up before heading into Peach Springs and didn't have to find out.

Went to this store after returning from our backpacking trip to Havasupai. Great place to stop. We got local honey. I liked the pine honey. I was dark, rich, and had a unique flavor.

The people that work at this "convenience store" all deserve raises! I rarely experience c-store employees that are as courteous, friendly and helpful as they are here. So refreshing indeed! And I just stopped in for a couple bottles of water! The young lady cashier did not hide (like I have seen at other c-stores), but put herself right out there as I approached with a question. I was so impressed that I had to leave a great review! Thank you.

Went and tried to pull money out of the atm it wouldnt process and now I have all these fraudulent charges on my account after hiking havasupai and haven’t used my card in at least a week prior. Stay away this place is a scam can’t stand people and places that do this.

Your last stop if you are going down to Havasupai. They have a good selection of drinks and snack items as well as quite a number of other things like a small selection of fresh produce, household and sundry items. They also have a deli and cafe. All in all, a great little store. Much more than just a gas station convenience store and the staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly.

Very friendly staff, they answered all my questions about things do to in the area. Lower price than heading to Seligman for gas and grub. No alcohol if you're looking for that. Good submarine sandwiches at a reasonable price, made to order with what seemed to be local ingredients.

Walapai Market, as it was named when I visited them this past spring (2016), is a small market/convenience store on Route 66. I was pleasantly surprised at their reasonable pricing for being the only market (I believe) in the small town of Peach Springs, AZ. Of course they cost more than a big city market but I usually find stores and gas stations in the middle of nowhere tend to price gouge quite a bit. They don’t have a large selection but they carry the essentials, including meats and baked goods. It’s also a 76 gas station. The staff was nice and helpful, if not a little bored.
