We just started working with This Old Farm and have received excellent support from Matt. He makes sure that we get what we need from processing and is able to help us manage that. We are building our direct to consumer beef business through our new website. He has helped answer the questions we have had along the way and given great direction. We love all of the cuts and specialties that we can get to help suit what our customers want. The quality of the processing has been very consistent. It’s nice that they make it easy to sell by the piece. Thanks to This Old Farm for helping us take our business from a hobby to a real direct to consumer business with products that help us stand out!

EDITED TO REPLY TO THEIR REPLY: The brisket was smoked for Christmas. If you truly would "swap out" my brisket for a whole brisket, why wasn't that offered when I brought this issue up at the counter to pay for the order. I emailed this request, and it was not only dismissed but not even a courtesy msg back that you can't, won't, or don't know how. Crazy part is that my request would have been faster and cheaper than cutting it in half and vacuum sealing 2 halves. You clearly do not care about your customers! You make fake retribution offers to negative reviews on Google. The day you actually offer me a whole brisket, I will revise my review.

ORIGINAL COMMENT: They cut their briskets in half as a standard. I sent a request sheet in to have my brisket NOT cut in half, they did it anyway. When I asked about it when paicking up, she said they are over 20 lbs. (which is a lie, see photo) and it would've cost me an additional $75.00 to have it packed as a whole brisket. As ridiculous as that is, No one even bothered to give me the choice or inform me they can't or won't leave my brisket whole! So you can buy a whole brisket at nearly any grocery store but not from this custom processing center! Besides even that, they can't even cut it straight! (See photos).

We have been working with This Old Farm for 5 years to develop our meat products that we raise and sell direct to consumer. Matthew is our farmer representative. He has great ideas, he connects us to other farmers doing similar things, and he makes sure processing runs smoothly for us. Matthew and the team have collaborated with us through the years to create high quality consistent cuts and value-added products that our customers love. First off they have a poor package choices to choose from. So you pay extra for cubed steak to look like this. It's all been cut in half. The brisket is ruined because it was cut incorrectly. Poor quality. Will not frequent again and will let people know about this experience. Also over 2 weeks later and no one has reached out to remedy the problem like they said they would. The meat is all so full of fat. None was removed. Worst place we've ever used. We're getting a pig and 100% NOT using them

Top notch processing facility and we love to stock up on pork products here. There are several varieties of bulk sausage, patties, links, brats. All of them are excellent!

Nice place, nice people, good communication. Overall a great place for high quality meat.
My only critique is that if I paid hanging weight on the full quarter, why wouldn’t they supply bones and what happens to the cuts we do not receive? I can’t help but to think that if four people purchase a quarter each, they would pocket the cuts and bones not offered. I hope they’re not grinding delicious cuts like skirt/flank/hanger.

I love coming here for meat processing. They’re a very friendly family of hard-working meat processors. They have a nice shop with marinates, sauces, foods and soda.

I had a several hogs processed by This Old Farm back in March. We have a homestead here in Tippecanoe County. This is a summary of my experience with doing business with them. My final rating is 3 stars, I will not be bringing my business back. While they have a great organized set up for paperwork, drop off, and communication prior to drop off. In person customer service was lacking, I am a 25 year old woman and was talked down to when asking questions about their process and my bill. I didn’t ask for the manger at the time because I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt since employees can have bad days. I have a degree in Animal Sciences, Agriculture Economics/Business, and previously worked as an accredited SQF Compliance and Food Safety Auditor for Indiana Packers (large scale hog processing plant in Carrol County), I am currently taking a career break to stay home and raise my children. I give this information to let you know I’m not just complaining on a whim. I have been less and less impressed with the quality of This Old Farms processing as we have gone through our meat. Especially the pork belly which has many had defects such as cartilage, glands, excessive leaf large fat, and random cuts making it less quality to turn into bacon these would all be indicators in a large scale plant that the meat needed trimmed and employees needed retrained. I would think in a small scale processor like This Old Farm employees would not be pressed by a line speed and could do an exceptional job and would quality checked before being packaged. I have more examples of quality defects on my product but this review is already very long so I will end it here. Overall, I would not come back and pay their prices for the quality I received. It is a shame Beutler Meat Processing Co doesn’t process pigs anymore.
