The food was wonderful! Unlimited appetizers (salad, cottage cheese which pairs with a tomato chutney, and coleslaw) are brought to every table. Ribeyes were perfectly cooked and delicious! Unlimited sides with those (mashed potatoes, gravy, & cream corn). Dessert is an ice cream sandwich, which I would only give a 3/5. The restaurant was a little on the cool side, so I kept my coat on. Definitely make a reservation in advance! I've been here a few times over the last decade, and it's always been great!

Food was pretty good but experience felt extremely rushed. Each course came out so fast there was no time to eat the prior course. Food was very expensive so would have preferred to have been able to take my time and not be rushed while eating it. Also, kind of weird to serve Blue Bunny ice cream sandwiches as dessert at a “nice” restaurant.

No idea what these complainers are talking about. Every single item we got was terrific. We got the Barnyard Platter plus a side of Mac. Top notch flavors. Yeah we waited a few past our reservation time for a table, but so freaking what?! It was Valentine's Day and they were busy. Service and food was worth it. If you don't want to feel rushed, don't order your entrees right off the bat. The person who dissed on the fried chicken is wrong wrong wrong! Or maybe they just like cheap fried food. It was wonderful. Bottom line - don't listen to these bad reviews, they're from people who don't understand good food. We had tons of leftovers to enjoy the next day.

There are few places you walk in to that already have prepared for your arrival the moment you reach your table quite like The Slogar. It was like walking into your really cool aunts house who's house is amazing, treats you like you are her favorite and feeds you until you are truly happy and satisfied. The place is beautiful and well designed. The opening course is unlike any spot i have been, i am a sucker for good slaw, and the cottage cheese and chutney is killer. For the main we tried the Ribeye, Fried chicken, ribs and stuffed peppers. Amazing. I am a Texan and we know our meats, The steak stood up to my expectations, the fried chicken was spot on, the ribs were the perfect blend of sweet, smokey and tangy and just fell off the bone and they were rested on some of the best greens i have had and the ricotta blended with the veggies in the stuffed pepper was great. And then can t we talk about the bottomless sides? Hot flakey biscuits with honey butter, smashed potatoes and gravy, and some creamed corn i would have eaten a bowl of. Overall, really enjoyed the spot and the staff was amazing.

This place is great. The reservation is a must. The dinner is all you can eat sides and appetizers, but you must buy a protein from the available options. We bought the sampler platter and ohh my it was a ton of food for 2 people and 1 kids. We had two kids so needed to get one more kids meal. The food was excellent. The service was also very good, but for the price it better be expected.
The fried chicken that is famous is absolutely worth it. It was spiced perfectly, very moist, and flavorful. The mashed potatoes and gravy side were also very good and I'd recommend it. The steak was ordered medium but came medium rare, luckily I like it like that too, but wife prefers it a bit more cooked. Besides the collard greens that my family doesn't like, there really isn't anything we did not like.

The fried chicken ($49), while moist, was completely bland—Popeyes would be a better (and cheaper) choice. Sides included unseasoned mashed potatoes, canned corn, and gravy that was just passable.

The so-called ribeye ($61)? Actually a strip steak, missing the flavorful cap, served cold, and tough enough that I couldn’t even chew through parts of it. Cottage cheese was bland, the tomato “chutney” was just stewed canned tomatoes, and the Caesar salad and coleslaw were worse than store-bought - definitely came from a bag. Plastic serving tongs were used for the salad….

The real kicker was dessert: a *Blue Bunny* ice cream bar, straight out of the wrapper.

Service was awkward but not bad—
our reservation was initially misplaced, and the courses came out in a disjointed manner.

If you’re looking for quality food, this isn’t the place. Factor in cocktails alongside overpriced dishes, and you’re left with an experience that doesn’t come close to justifying the price tag.

I am from Louisiana and this fried chicken is amazing!! The best fried chicken I have ever had was my grandmas, this is a close second. Everything from cocktails to sides was delicious. Service was exceptional and the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Do yourself a favor and eat here. I live 3 hours away and I’m already planning my next trip.

SLOGARS? More like sluggos. Ha!

When I walked into the establishment, I was very impressed by the bar. It looked like a girl classic cowboy bar, and that was nice, but when we got to our table, I was really happy to see all the sides on the table, the cottage cheese, and and tomato chutney was Bussin. The coleslaw was slapping.

Then, when our meals came out, the chicken was not warm the biscuits were cold. Biscuits were so cold in fact that my butter didn’t melt.

I believe the ice cream sandwiches were just the ones that you got from the ice cream man that were just cut in half.

The whiskey sour was excellent for this man that usually does not like whiskey. It didn’t taste like whiskey, but it was sour. Delicious

Overall, I would say it’s a pretty underwhelming experience considering that half a chicken was $47 before the tip.

I will not come back.
