We've shopped here for years, and every time we leave happy. We're very particular about where we get our meat, and I know I'm getting fresh meat when I go to the Butchers Block. People think this place is expensive, but it's not. For example: I can feed my family of 3 with one of their boneless chicken breasts. They're huge, and cheap. The employees are wonderful, Vicki is always so nice and helpful. Every time we shop here, we feel welcomed. I never spend over $100 here, and can feed my family of 3 for a while. I tell my coworkers and friends to shop here, and they'll be very happy with what they get. Last time I was here, I spent $85, and fed my family for two weeks.

I absolutely love butchers block! I went in today looking for kabobs for my husband and a pork steak for myself. I didn't see any kabobs, so I asked. The gentleman at the counter let me know they didn't have any but would be happy to assemble a fresh batch. A few minutes later a woman brought out fresh, gorgeous kabobs! Best customer service, beautiful cuts of meat, extensive selection of bbq sauces (I even found one that literally had my name on it!) and an extremely clean and friendly store. I will continue to recommend them to everyone I know. Thanks BB!

I travel all over Illinois for work and finding places like this are what I live for. I can’t wait to come here for lunch or dinner every time I’m working in Sparta. The daily specials that I’ve tried have all been fantastic and priced so fairly. If the special isn’t what you’re craving, they’ll whip up an amazing deli sandwich in minutes. They have canned soda sold individually (difficult item to find for me) and an assortment of made fresh side items like salads, dips, etc. This place is a hidden gem that I’ll keep coming back to!

Everything is fresh. Their chicken salad is awesome! They make all of their salads and dips fresh and you can tell! Delicious! They always have fresh cooked meats, chickens and BBQ. Reasonably priced. Even if it was a little higher than the other big box stores, I will buy from them because of the quality.

This is a mom-and-pop butcher shop/grocery store where you can also get a hot meal to go. They have prepared sides and desserts, too. It is run by a nice couple and several friendly employees. I am always satisfied with my purchases.

I have shoped at Butcher's Block for years. The service is great and also the quality of meat. They have a large selection of spices that you can't get in other local stores. If you don't see what you want, they will probably order it for you. They are very accommodating. If you want FRESH meat that's the place to go to.
