One of my absolute favorite places to grab a bite, a latte, meet with friends or pick up a nice edible gift! Locally owned, they also have a stand at the Foothills Farmers Market. Gluten free options, great coffee drinks, pastries and their food is wonderful! Recently I got the breakfast sandwich on their incredible gluten free bread. Melted cheese, bacon, egg and caramelized onions.
They always have a weekly specials menu, don’t miss that! Such inventive and delicious offerings.

The Baker and the Cakemaker in Auburn is a charming spot for a delicious treat, but be prepared for a potential wait, especially on weekends. I'd give it a 4-star rating.

Indoor/Outdoor Seating: They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, which is great depending on the weather and your preference.

Parking Challenges: Finding parking can be a bit tricky, though. There's limited parking around the bakery itself.

Busy But Worth It: I visited on a weekend afternoon, and the place was buzzing! I had to wait in line for 5-10 minutes to order.

A Menu with Something for Everyone: Their menu has a good variety, with beverages, toasts, sandwiches, salads, pastries, and even drinks. They also have beautiful cakes on display, but keep in mind they only sell slices from the daily selection, not necessarily everything you see.

A Touch Slow on Service: While the staff was friendly, the service was a bit on the slow side. It took another 10 minutes for them to heat up my banana hazelnut chocolate bread.

Worth the Wait: However, the wait was absolutely worth it! The bread itself was fantastic. It had the perfect balance of banana, hazelnut, and chocolate flavors, and heating it up created a delightful textural contrast with slightly crispy edges. I honestly wish I had ordered more.

Overall: The Baker and the Cakemaker is definitely worth checking out if you're in Auburn. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is inviting, and they have a variety of options. Just be prepared for a potential wait, especially during peak times.

From the minute you enter you get the small town bakery/diner vibes. Very few tables but always busy. You are greeted with aromas of everything that is baking and there are so many options to choose from. I love that they always have a gluten free option and that it is not always the same thing. The cookies are so good and the cakes look amazing! I always receive the best service.

I got married a few years ago and we ordered cupcakes and cake. Everything was DELICIOUS. We got a double order of cupcakes and every single one was gone, we got great feedback from everyone.
Fast-forward to this week for my baby shower. We ordered some of the same flavors and they were such a bummer. They were expensive, half the size, super dry, and had no flavor. The frosting also left a lot to be desired. The communication was also terrible and my mom went to go pick them up not knowing if they were ready. On top of that they were decorated incorrectly.
I don't know what has changed in the last 3 years but it seems like things have gone downhill. Its so sad because this was the best bakery in town. Hopefully they can turn it around.

Got 2 iced lattes, a cinnamon roll, a pineapple peach croissant, and 2 breakfast sandwiches! It came out to about 40$! Great service, great atmosphere, you get a large view of the kitchen from the checkout area. You can sit outside or inside, we sat outside at one of the tables. Each table has an umbrella should you desire shade. You sit on the sidewalk next to the road, with a planter area separating you from the traffic. It’s a nice little shop and good food/coffee! Worth the time checking out! Support small businesses!

Loved this place! So glad we took the short walk from the main part of beautiful old town Auburn to check this place out. Don't miss out! The brownie was so so good! We also loved the chocolate chip cookie and the baker's cookie which was so neat! I wanted to try so many other things. They will freshly slice their bread for you too. Will definitely be back when I get the chance to visit Auburn again.

Great bakery with a simple breakfast and lunch. I had a croissant with fruit that was delicious and my friend had a salad with a very nice homemade bread. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Crowded during lunch. Highly recommend!

I ordered the pesto sandwich with eggplant and would highly recommend it for it those looking for a vegetarian option. I ate their bakers cookie and it was really good. I drank their brown butter latte and it was ok, slightly better than a regular latte. I am interested in coming back and trying a couple of their cakes. From the display they look delicious
