Tanner's is one of those tourist orchards common to many locales. It was founded in the 1940s and has been providing a fun autumn diversion for Peoria County residents for many years. My earliest memories of it are visiting as part of field trips in grade school.

Today, it's become a bit of an institution among Peorians. It offers a farm market with apples and cider (of course), pastries, honey, dips, pop-corn, salsas, and much more. There is a fun petting zoo with goats, sheep, and chickens as well as a substantial playground area. It offers several dine-in options as well. It gets very busy on weekends, so I'd recommend arriving early in the morning. The farm market is very handicap accessible.

Tanners is a family friend place to go. They have snacks, lunch, and dinner for sale, or you can bring a sack lunch. They have a back 40 full of thinks kids can play on like a tractor, mini maize, etc. They have a corn maize. They have goats and chickens. They have pumpkins and mums for sale. A U pick apple Orchard. A bunch of areas to take fun pictures.

Having lived previously in the area, I knew about Tanners, but it had been a number of years since I had been there to give you an idea about the time frame we were there we visited on September 19. I also use an electric wheelchair, and I have to say that they were very accommodating. They do have handicap parking and they do have handicap ramps to use to get in and out of the main building.The parts of the orchards that are not paved were fine. Even in my wheelchair, I could access the entire place.
I was there with my son and his dog. They do require a $10 donation to bring the dog in. But that money was donated to The A.R.K. humane society in Lacon. It's a small price to pay to help the animals that need homes.
The main store was huge. They had all kinds of items from jelly and salsa, candles and even home décor.
They had bags and containers of already picked apples and an entire section of baked goods. You could see the workers in the kitchen making all their goodies, they have a small cafe. Inside where you can get good homemade food. It was unseasonably hot the day we were there, so we never really made it around to where the animals are but they did allow us into the U-pick area to take pictures. It's a fun day and I could see how you could spend an entire afternoon there with your family and have fun. Some people said that they thought the prices were too high. I guess coming from that area it might be perceived as that, but me having lived in the Chicago area for a number of years, I thought the prices were really good. It's also something that you do for fun once in a while, it's not an everyday thing. I would definitely recommend going for a day and seeing everything.It was a lot of fun.
The peach pie was made with fresh peaches - not canned. It was excellent! I brought home some taffy apples for the kids, and they said they were amazing.

Had an amazing family day here. All of their food is freshly made in house. We got a lot of different things. Pumpkin bars, popcorn, apple cider slushy, coffee, Carmel corn puffs, red hots, sauces, apple butter, pumpkin apple butter and apple fritters. The place is very clean, and their staff is very friendly. When you're outside there's bathrooms and food stands. There is a very fun children's area. It's $10.00 per person. Including adults just walking around. 57 years old and older get in free. The apple cider slushy is a must we bought 3 of them. Great place. I want to make this a fall tradition.

Tanner's Orchard is a fantastic destination for family fun. You'll find a delightful mix of activities that make it a perfect place to spend quality time with your kids. From the moment you arrive, you're welcomed by the friendly goats and chickens, offering a unique opportunity for kids and adults to pet and feed the farm animals. Please bring quarters because the feed machines require two quarters each time.

The corn maze and playground provide hours of entertainment for the little ones, and the huge jump pad adds an extra dose of excitement. Plus, there are pony rides on weekends. There are many seasonal activities including apple and pumpkin picking. This spot can be a good choice for hosting kids' birthday parties and other events.

I recommend stopping by the on-site store, where you can indulge in farm-fresh delights. Their apple cider is a must-try. In addition, they also sell donuts, honey, baked goods, and a lot of other stuff.

This is definitely one of our top choices for spending quality time with kids.

Beautiful fall decor, mums, pumpkins, apple picking, fun for the whole family! Delicious snacks, great lunch options, yummy apple cider. Fully stocked bakery with apple cider donuts, pumpkin bars, turnovers, & much more! Highly recommend!

We loved Tanners Orchard! The Apple Cider Donuts are a must!! Plus, they allow service dogs!! So, when my mom came to visit us from Colorado, she was able to bring her little, deaf, bulldog puppy!!

A great place to take your family. I also recommend it for a date night or a second date idea. It is really neat! You get to walk around the orchard and pick your apples for $20.00. My Gosh, they are SO good. They have a cute little country store that I want to move into and never leave. Also, tractor rides around the apple orchard, a corn maze, and a massive porch swing, The food is great I recommend their cheeseburgers with peach cider. Yum! I could see myself being here 24/7. You have to check out the Koi Pond. And take a picture with the grumpy old man sitting on the bench. Just a heads up the petting zoo is insane.
