My experience working at the Ramsey County Jail was very disappointing, I expected more from Sandy than what I saw as her being the leader there. Ben would come to work 98 % of the time smelling like he not bathed in a week once. Accountability & Responsibility only exists when corporate shows up. There were a lot of missteps like Sandy not telling me Taher holds your first pay check back, so I worked a whole month until I got paid luckily I had some extra liquid finances set aside, overall this experience was very disappointing.
The correctional officers were awesome.

Very overpriced, and the company doesn't value it's employees. They recently fired everyone's favorite cashier Larry, and the person they hired to fill his spot is never there and tries to charge you for meals ($2.50 extra for chips and a 12 oz. drink) when you only buy the hamburger. The college should re-hire the legend of a man Larry immediately. A burrito is $7.50, three tenders are $5.20, and a hamburger is $7.00. They charge broke college students for sub-par food.

Edit: We did it! They hired him back!
Edit: They fired him again 😔

Title: Extremely Disappointing Experience with Taher Company

I recently had the unfortunate experience of working with Taher Company, and I cannot express how dissatisfied I am with their services. From the very beginning, communication was a major issue. Emails went unanswered for days, and when I finally got a response, it was vague and unhelpful.

Working at Taher has been one of the most frustrating experiences of my career. From the start, I noticed a lack of clear communication from management. Important decisions were made without input from employees, leaving us in the dark about our roles and responsibilities. It felt like we were often just expected to figure things out on our own.

The work environment is incredibly toxic. There’s a palpable sense of favoritism among the management team, which creates a divide among employees. Those who are in the “in-crowd” seem to get all the praise and promotions, while hard work and dedication go unnoticed. This has led to low morale, and many of my colleagues are just counting the days until they can leave.

Additionally, the workload is overwhelming and unrealistic. I often found myself working long hours with little to no support, and when I raised concerns about burnout, I was met with dismissive attitudes. There’s no emphasis on work-life balance here, and it really takes a toll on mental health and physical health. Taher does not care about your well-being.

Overall, my experience at Taher has been disappointing and disheartening. I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for reliable and professional services, a supportive and fulfilling workplace. There are much better opportunities out there where your contributions will be valued.

This company is the worst and absolutely shady. They currently serve our k to 12 school district. Their audit is this week to see if they will keep the contract and they told their employees to hide all pricing and such so the school won’t see. They also constantly run out of food because they do not know how to place orders. The recently even wrote an employee up for being the grandparent of a child whose mother bought his class pizza on his birthday. When covid hit they got paid from the school yet refused to pay all their employees for the school closing even though the company had already been paid for that. Definitely vote against them at any school board meetings. They are not taking care of your children or their employees. The food is also disgusting and it is a small town so I know most people in there and they can cook. They just want to cut corner lbs on the kids to line their pockets.

They have served us for a couple years now and I would do anything to get them out and get a new place to run the cafeteria. So cheap they hand out plastic utensils and you get charged for EVERYTHING, even a to go box is $.25.

Update - 01-11-2018
Still the most overpriced food I have ever had. Quality has gone up and the employee quality has definitely improved with an occasional reasonably priced meal that is of good quality. Pricing still gives this review a 1 star as it is that bad. 50 cents an ounce is ridiculous for salad and to go containers are stil being charged for. Anytime that you actually want a whole meal with a pop you are in the $9 range or more.

Update - 07-25-2022
After COVID their prices incredibly are actually worse and they have 1/8 of the cafeteria open right now because well they aren't sure they are going to make enough to warrant opening the whole cafeteria. Well at $4.40 for a Monster drink and $5 for a breakfast sandwich, no one will come back. Worst company ever for food service in a public building.

Their prices are the worst!
$3 for a tiny serving of potato salad from their self-serve section.
Additionally, when I asked about the regular cheeseburger I was told I could buy the jalapeno burger and remove the jalapeno.
Why would I want to pay an extra $1 for something I'm not going to eat?
I was told by an employee, who is a friend, that they have huge amounts of waste, and we, the customers, are forced to pay for it!

Pros:
At my school The head Chef and the main cook Fred are awesome.

Cons:
Taher is the food service at my College. Everyone here is in agreement that the food is actually pretty decent but compared to the cost is a joke. a tray of 3 chicken tenders (no drink,no fries, etc) costs $4.25. Want fries and a drink with that? It's gonna come out to about $9.50. I've see a guy walk up with a "make your own parfait" that looked like it couldn't be more than a few spoon fulls. When he brought it to check out it was $4.25(charged by weight) and the kid snapped on the cashier, left it there and walked out. Everyday they also have a "special" that is equally overpriced. Today it was a Juicy Lucy with fries(no drink) that costed $7.25 I got curly fries as I had been told I could substitute them before, which cost 30 cents more than normal fries when bought separately, and the lady charged me the full cost of them on top of the special even when I tried to argue it.
I asked a teacher of mine why the school would stick with such an overpriced caterer for our food service when we're all just some broke college students and she said that they had a contract with them and that after their first year at the school they raised all of their prices significantly. Anyway I just wish I could get a decent meal at my school for under $10 especially when its almost all fried anyway.

Fresh Seasons Café recently replaced an existing café at the business complex I work at and they are horrible in every way. I was excited for something new and gave them a try on multiple occasions and even though I complained I kept going back since they are the only option near me, but today was the last straw, I will not be returning. Not only is the food horrible but the options are even worse. Most of the time I ask for a burger (well done) because after the first time visiting it was very pink (pink juice) which is not ok in this kind of setting. Even asking for it well done it never is cooked to be well done. Unfortunately, the cook always acts like it's such a chore with this request. I typically request bacon and/or grilled onions just to spruce up the otherwise tasteless burger and am met with hesitation. Today I was made to feel like a child after asking for bacon multiple times and was told they had it but deliberately left it off by the cook after he was complaining to other staff members about how he is tired of doing special requests because they are losing money. I understand that and am fine with paying extra for bacon but was told that even my 3 pieces of grilled onions was extra even though 2 feet away I can get them for free through the side bar. This to me is ridiculous and a serious form of nickel and diming. I might add that I only get a patty without a bun as I cannot eat said bun. If you want to charge extra for onions I want a discount on the bun I don't get. Not only this but apparently putting cheese on a salad also costs extra, not extra cheese but any cheese. Again, this is ridiculous. I walk out of there paying well over 12 dollars for a burger patty and a small side salad. The service is slow, the workers are condescending and made me feel genuinely uncomfortable. Oh yeah, they are also overpriced for the tasteless options they do have.
