A shopping experience with an abundant variety of fresh produce, meat, fish and groceries. Prices are good and everything is well stocked and fresh. Kids will love the animatronics. Large bakery and selection of prepared foods. This time of year they offer flowers, plants and soil. A fun outing for the whole family!

The best supermarket of them all. Huge, yet never crowded. Very wide aisles with a big, wide path leading you through the store. Every department imaginable, and then some. Endless varieties and brands and sizes. Fresh everything. Samples. Hot food too, so sit and enjoy. Bathrooms. Nice workers, and many of them. Lots of cashiers, plus self checkout. Cavernous parking area. Like I said, the best.

I actually knew Stew Sr. I even went to his home for a big party, my Dad was in the food business and his partners (Matlaws) who grew up with Stew in Connecticut. I have always said the quality is exceptional. BUT today I purchased a Lobster Roll, and I was extremely disappointed.Why? Because they no longer use just Lobster, it was a blend with what tasted and smelled like Tuna Fish!!!! I have been buying their Lobster Rolls for over 45 years! I checked the ingredients listed, but I didn't see Tuna Fish, but I am certain it was there, it was the vast majority of the meat, I couldn't even taste any Lobster, but I did get a medium size piece of shell! Things change, but frankly, for $11, it was a complete rip off. I never thought Stew Leonard's would sink to this substitute to save a buck.

This review pertains to the catering services offered by the Stew Leonard’s store in Farmingdale, NY. My first catering order at the end of last year was impressive. I received an immense amount of food that, overall, was very tasty (the mashed potatoes seemed to be made from flakes in a box—very thin and bland). I placed a second order about a month and a half later. The serving size remained great but the chicken was thin and dry and the sweet potato pancakes were terribly overcooked to the point of being hard and nearly inedible. I overlooked these imperfections and once again I placed an order for this past weekend. I was disappointed to find that the serving sizes were greatly diminished (on prior occasions, the sweet potato dish had been packaged in a larger pan and dishes were packed full whereas this time, there was so much space left in the pans—huge gaps between the pieces of meat—it looked (it WAS) sparse and I was embarrassed to present it to guests). The chicken, which I was looking forward to devouring, was dry, sadly, as was the salmon. Was it terrible? No, but neither was it the high quality I expected from Stew Leonard’s. Unfortunately, this latest experience was enough to change my mind about placing future catering orders here. I will go elsewhere henceforth. It’s a shame and I sincerely hope that they improve before irreparable harm is done to their business and reputation. 🙁

If you are looking for a fun experience while food shopping, then Stews is the place for you. They have a lot of their own branded items as well as hot and cold food for takeout. Definitely love this supermarket.

Always a great experience shopping here for kids, adults...entire family. High quality bakery, hot foods from the buffet, fresh made pizzas, fresh made sushi, various food options along with necessities, fresh produce, and high quality seafood, meats, cheeses, etc. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Clean, spacious, and interactive store; bigger than the other location on Long Island. Lots of free parking available.

This place is awesome they have everything the only thing that stops me from giving them a 5 star review is their deli. Child cuts are delicious but their employees need to be trained on how to work and not talk over people's cold cuts. And their cleaning methods are definitely not standard. I still shop here but I stay far away from their deli

Love this place! Their "Power House" chopped salad is amazing- it's well worth the 30 minute drive from my house just for that alone. I've turned several family members on to it as well. Everything they sell is top quality, can't say enough good things about them.
