DO NOT order from Southwest Mushrooms. In the past they were great, but recently they've gone down hill. I ordered spawn from them back in November 2024 and I have yet to receive anything. I spoke with Michael over the phone and he assured me that my order would ship soon, but it never did. I've tried calling to get a refund but I have not heard back from anyone. My advise, order from North Spore. I ordered from them and my order arrived promptly.

I bought 3 starter kits, 1 lion's mane, 1 chanterelle and 1 oyster mushroom kit because you said it was easy to grow. What a load of crap. I threw away the oyster mushrooms with mold on them. I've been growing them for 2 weeks and the other 2 kits aren't doing well either. Unless you have a full grow room like one being pushed by all of you growers for hundreds of dollars then these kits are useless. I did better with a cheap kit I bought off of Amazon just to try for a much better price.

Hello y’all! I just want to say that their cultures are awesome, will be ordering more from these guys. Worth the wait, as with most mushroom things. Thank you, your black pearl is outstanding. Shipping and overall communication was a bit to be desired, but was compensated with extra cultures on order. Quality exceeds any other vendor I have purchased from. If a tight time frame isn't important to you this is the place to order from.

Mike has high quality grain spawn. Its both aggressive/fast colonizing and produces high yielding fruiting blocks. Do not order from this place, there is no customer service to speak of. I ordered a kit for a friend as Christmas gift, on December 5 2024. Said it would release on the 11. They never got it. I have called several times filled out their online contact form and never received an email back. Yet they have time to do videos, but not to refund customers. Spend your money somewhere us like North Spore.

Did a full tour and met Mike. He knows what he is talking about and it’s shows in the way he have design his mushroom farm. I Got a freshly harvested lions mane on my way out as a present and enjoyed it’s flavor very much. Grilled and in curry. Looking forward to growing with their live cultures.

They did not send my order even after 3 months! Do not bother ordering from here. I thought it would be a good experience from seeing their YouTube videos, however the communication and customer service are virtually non-existent. After a month of not getting an order confirmation I reached out for the status. The response was essentially "they will be ready to ship soon" and I was given tracking numbers. Another month later Michael tells me that they do not actually have what I ordered (failed to disclose that for 2 months!), and he would send out what they have THAT DAY and 'refund' me. This was another lie (he tells you what you want to hear and doesn't follow through with what he says) because here we are another month later and I have yet to receive my order, and he has not responded to any recent emails inquiring about the shipment status, their phone doesn't work either.
