My server was super nice and friendly. Made great recommendations. She suggested the burgers over the philly so I ordered a single with American and grilled onions with tots. Service was prompt and everything was super fresh and hot. Veg on the burger was peak of fresheners. You could tell the team in the kitchen cared about what was coming out. The burger to me tasted like a refined single from smash burger but the bun was perfectly soft and had great taste and texture. I wished I'd ordered the double! The tots were fresh from the fryer and crisp, not overcooked and most importantly not oversalted or some other house seasoning! They were also perfect. Food wise it was a great experience. For the atmosphere, I was fascinated by the size of the bar selection. Then they were playing reggae which I have no problem with, but it just felt off with the atmosphere. It wasn't unpleasant but it felt like someone was building out this big saloon style western theme with dark beautiful wood and clearly a culture palate for alcohol then said "let's jam some island tunes on the overheads nectar it reminds me of snorkeling in Jamaica man." It's incongruent. It wouldn't stop me from going back, but playing reggae music in a place like this just feels passe in my opinion. I don't know what I'd pick but it wouldn't be that. I'd probably pick classic rock with some country mixed in. Maybe the target demographic packs the place during the ski season? It's a cool place and I'd go back but be ready for some steel drums

My name is Nick Nell and I came out from Wisconsin to do some skiing. The food was excellent, but Liz was the real reason my buddy and I came out to the bar for 3 nights of our visit. She worked the bar with an aptitude of a surgeon when the bar was randomly extremely busy on 3/19. We were never forgotten and constantly asked if we needed anything. If your sole purpose is to visit this place for a drink, make sure Liz is working because she is spectacular!

Great stop, burgers were great. Several ways to have your fries. Truffle, Garlic, Parmesan. A perfect bar selection. Great for family or when you’re just coming down from the mountain.

Disappointing. I read all reviews and had been wanting to come here for weeks and finally did. All four burgers were burnt to the crisp, extremely dry and hard to swallow. Service was terrible. Wasn’t greeted for 10 minutes. We had to flag down the server for anything she never came to us. They re-made 2 burgers but they came back as singles not the triples we had originally ordered. Manager took 20 percent off, but never came to the table. That percentage didn’t cut it for how awful they tasted and getting no service. The cook and server we had need re-training and we shouldn’t have had to pay more $50 for the burnt burgers.

Good food but overpriced, especially when adding in a 4% "Living Wage Fee". Apparently the owner doesn't pay their workers properly so it's their customer's job to do so.

Service was atrocious. We got charged for sauces that were forgotten with our entrees. Drinks came out wrong. Server was abrasive and rude.

This business also has one of the few paid parking lots in Avon, another sign of their version of customer appreciation.

Came at 4PM Sunday to watch football because they usually have great football drink and food specials. Server said the football specials were no longer available, although signs around the restaurant said otherwise. Told us they could do happy hour prices instead, which was great, until it supposedly ended at 5:30, and no one told us, and our bill at 7PM was mostly full priced. Been here many times and the staff and management are frequently disorganized, understaffed, careless, etc. which is surprising as the other restaurants in the Northside family are the complete opposite.

Ballpark

The food is good. Since 2023 (it's 2024) the prices went up. They've also added a 4% kitchen living wage. What is this? Do you not pay your employees enough? Do they not get enough in tips? I HATE getting surprise fees on my checks. Add it to the cost on the menu so I can better chose to come or not. Every restaurant that does this kind of nonsense I always subtract that from the tip. In Breckenridge I had a "building restoration fee" on my check and did the same thing. This is nonsense.

I had a decent experience at Southside Benderz. The food was on the pricier side, especially since everything is à la carte. While the quality was okay, it didn’t quite justify the cost. On the upside, the drinks were solid, which helped balance things out. Overall, it’s not a bad spot, but I’d probably explore other options before rushing back.
