The farms share box I receive every week is like getting a birthday gift every 7 days. It is exciting to see what beautiful produce Shakefork put together for me to use. I also appreciate the emails that include recipes and updates on the farm. An added bonus this year is that we all get a text when our shares are ready for pick up and that has made this even more convenient. So far my favorite items include strawberries, basil, and a bag of salad greens that gets me through the week. We love Shakefork Community Farm! we always get high quality, tasty, colorful, and fresh food in our weekly shares. In the summer I only go to the grocery store for a few things, as all our fresh food needs are more than met in our weekly share. I also enjoy seeing them at the Farmers' Markets all year long.

Here in Humboldt, we're blessed to have an abundance of small local farms. Shakefork is one of those farms. We've been CSA members for 14 years, back when they had a grain share, to today's CSA, which has an abundance of fresh, nutrient rich, sustainably harvested fruits and vegetables. Once our CSA starts up, we rarely need to buy veggies at the Farmers' Markets, or local stores. Trying to come up with new and interesting recipe ideas for some of the abundance (zucchini comes to mind) has been a fun endeavor for our family. And if you get a chance, definitely go on a Farm Tour when they offer them! They have transformed the land they farm over the years they've been there, and it's always a delight to see how things have progressed over the years, as they find ways to live with whatever nature throws at them. I highly recommend joining Shakefork's CSA program when the opportunity is offered each Fall.

This community is thriving with Shakefork Farm as the epicenter of the freshest tastiest produce and meat. They have the biggest abundance and variety at the farmers market and the friendliest familiar faces we all love to see. Gorgeous delicious nutritious food offered with a smile. Practices that honor, protect and nourish their land (therefore all land) and animals. Great organization and procedures with their CSA boxes which we've been receiving for years now. You can add on eggs, coffee, extra greens...One of the best options for CSA in Humboldt for sure!!

Shakefork's CSA gives us amazing veggies (and strawberries!) straight from the farm. We add a dozen eggs and coffee to reduce our grovery list even more. The tips from the farmers for keeping everything fresh and recipes have been an unexpected bonus. We heart Shakefork!
