Delightful farm where you can feed a variety of farm animals and buy locally grown produce. $2 for a bag of feed - enough for 2 people to share. Feeding the goats is a lot of fun - rambunctious! Lady who helped us was very friendly. Limited hours so check the schedule on their website or call ahead. Plan on 1/2 hour or so visit.

April and her husband Rich, along with the entire staff, provided an exceptionally welcoming atmosphere. The Farm offers a sanctuary for families seeking a holistic, nature-driven approach to education within the modern academic landscape. I highly recommend the farmhouse school to anyone looking for such an enriching educational experience.

Great coffee, fresh produce, and a small petting area where you can feed and pet some goats sheep and piggies! ($10 to do so). Perfect for little ones! Very thoughtful touches all around.

My child LOVES "farm school" (as we call it 🙂 - and has been attending for over a year! April and Farmer Rich have set up a fantastic program for kids to explore and learn while out in nature. It's always a fun, engaging and educational morning spent on the farm. My child has made many farm friends, is known and greeted by name by all the wonderful farm school staff, and as a bonus, my kid has tried tons more fruits and veggies than ever before. I wholeheartedly recommend!

We’ve had our kids at young Pioneers since its first session in January 2021. It’s been so fun to see it grow over these years and beautiful to see this farm respond to a need in this community. My daughter started at almost 3 and has always come home happy, a little dirty and with things to share about what she learned. They are outside all morning gaining valuable social, physical and nature skills and knowledge. Even in the last few months as she has been a little sad at drop off (because we’re expecting her little sibling any day) I don’t hesitate to leave her with April or her teacher, Jen, because I know she is in good, caring hands. What more could a mama want We’re sad to be leaving for kindergarten but will be back for camp! A huge thank you to all the staff and teachers!

Sand n Straw is one of my family’s favorite places. For starters, the farm stand has AMAZING produce. We’ve had our best cantaloupe, watermelon, and dragon fruit in our lives thanks to them. I let the kids pick out veggies, and they actually eat them (kale, cucumbers, carrots). My kids’ favorite thing about the farm is the animals. You can buy a bag of animal feed for a few bucks and feed the pigs, sheep, goats, and rabbits. There are chickens and two friendly dogs too. We adults like to sit in one of several shady spots and admire the beautiful view. AND April and Rich are two of the most genuine people I know. They’ll chat or answer questions, and I’ll realize I just took up a ton of their time. I am so grateful for the beautiful Community Farm they have created. My daughter’s Girl Scout troop is even doing a Take Action Project there next month (helping to prepare and put up owl boxes). Enjoy!
