Richter’s Orchard is one of the oldest and finest family run establishments on Long Island, and it certainly should be given credit where it’s due for servicing our town of East Northport for generations. Those who left horrible reviews couldn’t begin to understand just how beloved this place is to our locals, and their grievances are quite frankly a load of nonsense. The Amsler family has always been more than kind to my parents and I, and their Holiday Blend apple cider is still the most delicious cider I’ve ever tasted. Please come and try it, happy respectful people will certainly enjoy it the most!

And if anyone wants to learn more about the history of this place, head over to the Northport Historical Society, they should have records on the surrounding land that was previously owned by those who established this orchard… as well as a great article written by The Huntingtonian.

We were mistaken and thought we could pick our own apples. When we started walking towards the back we were stopped by a woman riding around in a tractor and very rudely told we could not go in the back and there is no apple picking there because " they are the oldest orchard on Long Island". Her attitude was off the charts! We would have went in to see what was being offered there but the vibe was very unpleasant! I don't understand how some people stay in business. Isn't it all about customer service!?

Very very racist!!! We went in thinking we could pick apples since we saw tic toks and reviews and as we walk in an old white bearded man greeted us and we inquired about picked and was told we can not and we see people walking in the orchards and was told that we can not and we can leave. Never again !!

I knew this Orchard wasn’t a place to pick our own apples from their trees which was fine. It’s a pleasant visit to a small farm with a quaint little general store on the beautiful North Shore of Long Island. The staff was friendly too.

My daughter and I picked up a small bag of fresh apples, local honey and a gallon of their Apple Cider that is unbelievably tasty. We will return in the future.

I definitely recommend this place.
