I could of easily spent all day here. Unassuming from the outside but a wonderland for plant lovers inside. Itโ€™s huge with several different greenhouses and a lovely outdoor area. I came specifically looking for a calamondin tree, which they currently donโ€™t have, but left with some jasmine vines and a stunning mandevilla. I will definitely be back. Also would be a great place to shop for gifts for a home/patio/plant lover as they have lots of things that would make a great gift.

I had never heard of this place until I went to my sister's event next door. She told me that she'd heard good things about Rainbow Gardens. I love cacti and suggested I check them out. I've been there twice now, and each time, I have left with something. Cacti, of course! The Bandera location is huge and has so many plants for every price point. Love that! They have everything from bird baths to metal decor to garden essentials. I've purchased six cacti in the two visits. One died, though. A reason to go back. I have found cacti that I've seen online for great prices. If you're a plant person, definitely check it out. I do wish they had more cacti, but so far, I have not been disappointed. I want to visit the Thousand Oaks location and see what they have as well.

It is one of the best garden stores in San Antonio. They have an amazing variety in plants, ornaments, and a wealth of information when it comes to plants. I love going to this plant zoo!

I visited last Saturday, and noticed that a bunch of non-native plants were labeled as being "Texas" plants, even invasive plants like the English ivy shown below. If it's not native to Texas, it shouldn't have Texas on the label!

Rainbow Gardens is normally my go-to for Texas natives, but this season, I found myself having to check my phone multiple times to make sure I wasn't missing something, and I'm pretty knowledgeable about what grows around here. What's worse is that there are people who only know they should be buying Texas natives, but they don't know what they are looking for, and they end up trusting the signage and buying invasive species.

I understand that native plants are difficult to source, but at least reserve the native labelling for them. Almost 20 years ago, I filled my first yard with plants I thought were native, and then later found out that almost everything I had selected was invasive, and they had been labeled incorrectly. We should know better by now. Please do better, Rainbow Gardens, or I'm going to have to drive all the way to the Nectar Bar (which is awesome, but way on the other side of town).

Iโ€™ve been visiting rainbow gardens for over 20 years. I have way too many plants, but I always find โ€œjust one more special friendโ€ Iโ€™m forced to add to our ever-growing forest and foliage fam. Itโ€™s my happy place. ๐ŸŒˆ

Stopped by on the weekend to pick up few plants and small trees. Very large selection of different plants and varieties of the same plant. I only planned to be there about 15 minutes, but easily spent an hour browsing and picking up more than I planned.

There's so many options whether it's an annual, perennial, small, large, horizontal, vertical, flowery, greenery, etc... There's also nice garden accessories, decorations, soils, mulch, etc... If you're looking to any garden work, they'll have everything you need. Also, very friendly and helpful staff throughout the grounds.
