I so appreciate local farms, and their dedication to growing food for the community. Living in the midwest doesn't necessarily mean having access to locally-grown food -- so much of the land is taken up by industrial crops. I love PEF's energy, their drive to succeed in the current market by experimenting with new products and methods of delivery (Choice CSA!), and that they work hard to get their produce in the hands of local restaurants and groceries. And they grow delicious food!!

I have been a customer with PrairiErth since their very first Downtown Bloomington Farmers' Market. I've also had the privilege to work on the farm. I had the pleasure assisting with the harvest. A few of my Hispanic friends and I were needed to remove weeds and chaff griming with tubers such as parsnips, carrots, and other root crop. The work was muddy, hot and cold, but timed perfectly. I was very compensated and would do it again in a heart beat. I did however discover the water well to be contaminated from swine or cattle.
