Very frustrating trying to buy material for a project in Arizona from Orco. They insist that California Sales Tax be paid when an out of state company, with a valid resale tax exempt certificate, hires a licensed common carrier to pick up material and deliver across state lines for use. I have purchased hundreds of loads from various vendors in California and many other states over the last 30 years and never encountered this before. Orco Accounting Manager referred me to CDTFA and their website. I contacted them 1.800.400.7115 and spoke with Sales Tax Department who confirmed my purchase should not be taxed at California sale. The regulations are specific and very clear but Orco would not respond when I inquired multiple times what condition of the regulations was not being met?
Spoke with Sales Tax specialist with CDFTA and she suggested I refer Orco to CA Regulation 1620 and share copy of CA Publication 101. The agent suggested if Orco still had questions to have them contact CDFTA at 800.400.6115 and a state agant could review with them.
To date Orco is completely unresponsive.

There is a man that works at the Riverside location that drives a red pickup truck that is beyond rude and unprofessional. He rode around honking his horn at me like I was a dog in the middle of the street and repeatedly told me I had to leave the premises. It was only when he let me get a word in edgewise that I was able to explain that I was a contractor and waiting for my partner who was in the showroom. Then he looked shock and confused and drove away unfulfilled of his mission to be a world class douchebag. Needless to say, I cannot patronize this business or recommend it to anyone else. I would give this business a negative star if it was possible.

These people will run you off the lot if you do not have an appointment or already placed an order by phone. Even as a contractor and wholesaler, i could not get any help or aid. Go to their competitors. These people do not deserve your business.
