Compared with many modern grocery stores, this is small -- yet it has most anything you might need. Of course the prices are not the lowest within 50 miles, but some things are less expensive than in Aldi's! Another valuable thing is that they seldom reshuffle where items are, so you can get in and out in a hurry, especially since there are more cashiers available than you'll find in BJs and they are very helpful. This store has been in the same family for generations, and we hope this continues as an important fixture of the community.

I shop at this store weekly. They carry some items that you can't find at other stores like lard and salt pork. They accept food stamps. They have quality beef and pork at reasonable prices. They deliver locally.

I haven't been to this place in years but at some point they stopped making fresh subs and you can only get pre-made. The pre-mades look like they've been sitting there for 2 or 3 days. Lettuce Brown meat looks dry. Too bad

We retired to CNY and love this area, including Modern Market! Friendly, helpful staff, and an excellent selection especially considering it's a small country store The deli and baked goods shouldn't be missed!

Some staff are courteous and some are downright grouchy. Decent store for a small town, though, with a few choices of just about all the basics. Sometimes you can find surprisingly good deals on items! I tend to avoid buying fresh meat there.
