Mason Dixon did our wedding cake. The best gluten and dairy free cake I have ever tasted. They completed the design I wanted and even placed our dog figures on the cake. They also have a variety of cake stands you can rent. They made us feel welcome from the beginning and we loved the cake tasting process. I highly recommend to use them!

Came here for lunch and absolutely loved it. The amount of time placed into something as simple as avocado toast was a good indicator for me. Their toffee coffee and smoked Mac and cheese were great as well. Unfortunately only here for a short time but would’ve loved to return and try the rest of their menu.

This is a super cute gluten free bakery/bistro. It is an order at the counter type of spot, but don’t let that deter you. I was iffy after reading some reviews, but I was craving some fried chicken and that is difficult when you’re gluten free. I ordered the fried chicken biscuit, the smoked Mac and cheese, the chips, the cinnamon bun, and the chicken bowl. Not one disappointed. The chicken biscuit was the highlight. The chicken was so juicy and crispy. The biscuit was perfect, along with a runny yolk and the comeback sauce, I really wanted to order another after the first bite. The Mac and cheese looked like nothing specia, but it did the trick. It had great flavor. It is penne though, not macaroni. The chips were crunchy, fresh, and salty. I couldn’t stop eating them. The cinnamon bun looked a bit dry, but was anything but. It was gooey and each bite had icing. The chicken bowl was good, my only critique would be maybe a bit more sauce and a bit less rice. I took a few cupcakes, macarons, and a cookie sandwich to go. Also this delectable looking lavender lemon shortbread that I can’t wait to try. This is the spot, even if you’re not gluten free. Best bite of food I’ve had in Alabama, thank you!

One of my favorite places in all of HSV ? Everything they have is absolutely delicious, and everyone is always super friendly and kind. I love how they have a dessert option for everyone, even if you’re looking for something df, gf, and refined sugar free!! Their chicken apple brie sandwich is filling and flavorful, and my boyfriend said their fried chicken biscuit is one of the best he’s ever had too. I love how they have seasonal flavors for cupcakes and treats here, and you can feel good knowing you’re supporting a local business all while minimizing gluten from your lifestyle (a lot of us are sensitive to it and don’t even realize it… try gluten free for a week or two and you can feel the difference!!) My go to is their house salad with grilled chicken, and of course a paleo cupcake!! We are already looking forward to their Apple Cinnacakes coming back in the fall… one of the best desserts I’ve ever had! Also… their cheesecakes are on the pricier side but my family and I love every bite! They’re absolutely worth the wait and the price for a special occasion.

Our friend of ours recommended our caterer and so glad they did! We had several consultations discussing the wedding itself and selecting possible food options. We had a tasting appointment to try out our selections and was very hard to narrow it down – everything was so good! And that’s coming from a picky eater. Bonus they also do wedding cakes. THE CAKE. The cake was top tier! Not only did it look good but it tasted even better! We had three tiers, all different flavors and they all set the bar for the highest standard. Not one guest had a negative thing to say about the food or the desserts. They take care of the setup of the food, dessert, and cake tables and also had employees serving appetizers and dinner and cutting the cake. Ashley, Donna, and the other staff members made it their mission to make sure we were taking care of by having our private meal ready and even preparing leftovers for us to take home to eat after an extremely long day! Donna asked me several times how we were doing, if everything tasted okay, and if we liked the setup of everything. I also hosted a Bridesmaid Lunch to thank all the women involved the wedding and the planning of at the Bistro. The lunch was catered in a private room with good food and mimosas. I dropped a few bins off to be used to setup and Donna put everything out better than I could’ve imagined – it was a great start to the weekend! If you need a caterer that does more than just food, communicates well, and goes above and beyond, then Mason Dixon is the only choice!
