Mark is the best! I have been on both sides of the business...consigning items for him to sell for me and bidding/winning items. I was impressed and pleased with how much he was able to get for the items I consigned with him. I've also been very happy with the items that I have bid on and won. Mark ran an auction at My Mom's home. He and his wife Susan were very efficient and on time for meetings. He really helped organize the collectables in the house. During the auction he worked tirelessly to get the best price. After all was over, the house was almost emptied, saving us many hours of emptying it ourselves and less stuff in the landfills, and we made money. Win, win, win! If you choose do go the auction route have Mark come and look at the stuff first. We threw out so much, 2 dumpsters worth, but after seeing the auction, we realize a lot of it could have been sold. He was highly recommended to me by a friend, and I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Where do I begin? Mark Van Hook Auctioneer came into a house that had not been gone through or cleaned in so many years that I cannot tell you. It was 3 levels of absolute mess! Everything was so piled up that I was afraid to try and go through it because of critters that I might find. Many years of hoarding had gone into creating this mess. I called Mark to see if he was interested in taking on the project and he accepted the challenge. I kinda felt bad knowing what he and his team were facing. They went through everything on all 3 floors and held the online auction. He cleaned everything that was auctioned off which was no small feat, believe me. The house being cleaned out was in Ohio and I live in Florida so trust was very important to me. He had been recommended by our realtor, whom i totally trust. I cannot thank him enough for all the work he put into the auction for the successful outcome. I would recommend Mark to anyone needing an auctioneer. His cost was much better as well because we didn't have to hire a trucking company to move the items being sold. Mark dug out the items, cleaned them, posted them online, sold the items, set up pick up times for the buyers, waited for buyers to pick up, and sent us the check. I will forever be grateful to Mark for a job well done and to my realtor for the recommendation! God bless!

I bought my house from Mark, and subsequently have filled it with a lot of lovely things from his sales. Mark & Susan are exceedingly honest, professional, and fun to talk to. Items are sold as represented, they are good about answering questions when asked. As with any auction, items are sold as is, where is - don’t expect anyone to deliver or load your truck! All rules of auctions are crystal clear. Honest & professional - I’m now hiring them to do a sale for me. HIGHLY recommended!

I have been bidding and buying from Mark’s auction for many years and I have found him and his staff to have the utmost integrity and professionalism. I told a friend about him who desperately needed to downsize many years of accumulated items and he did a fantastic and honest job. There are a lot of questionable people in this biz, including bidders, but Mark is one of the best!

After several successful sales and what I thought was a good business relationship, I was banned because I bid $1 on a large metal file cabinet which no one else had bid on. I went to see it and make arrangements for pick up when I realized I just couldn't do it. I paid for the cabinet anyway but explained my dilemma. Their response was "when we saw your bid, we wondered what you were thinking bidding on it". I asked if it was okay to leave it to be sold with the house. Their response was "That's not how it works. If you don't take it, you will be banned from any further auctions,". I was shocked. I asked if there was anything else I could do and they rather smugly said "No." I left and was indeed banned over an item no one else bid on that they knew before I got there I wouldn't be able to move but paid for it anyway. Beware of bidding on any items sight unseen. You may get kicked out too!!!

I have had numerous business dealings with Mark Van Hook and have found his work to be exceptional and extremely professional. My wife and I felt confident enough in Mark and his company to have him handle the sale of my wife's grandmother's estate. The sale closed faster and made money more the we expected. Ridiculous. After spending thousand of dollars on items from this auction house, one time my truck breaks down and I wasn't able to pick up a shelf predominantly filled with trash that I won for a measley $3.00 (give or take) and they ban my account. Even tried reaching out via text because I planned on spending at least $2,500 on the active auction they had running and all I got was a generic response and never another reply. Life is is challenging enough, we don't need more prudes with zero grade or understanding. I even offered to pay online for the items I couldn't pick up. Smh.

Hands down, such amazing people to work with! And let me say Mark has some mad organization skills. He came through the house and had all of our stuff organized and divided up into neat piles. And Susan was a such joy to communicate with. I was so impressed with how they handled everything.
