In October 2023 I had a wonderful time at Maria’s Farm in Marengo, IL. It’s a magical world where for a few precious hours I was surrounded by wonderful nature and peace, away from the daily hustle and bustle, where the time seemingly stopped. It allowed me to decompress and absorb the morning sun, while enjoying a yoga class with the goats roaming freely in the field. The lavender field nearby added magic to the scenery, the pond shimmering in the October breeze. It was a time in a dreamland where Maria’s vision for creating a special space on her farm for others to enjoy, came true in the best possible way. It’s a reminder that anything is possible, and dreams come true if we put our heart and effort into it.
I enjoyed my time at the farm tremendously, interacting with the wonderful host, Maria, guests, goats, and a variety of beautiful chickens. I loved the lavender tea, herbal water, goat cheese and crackers after yoga. But most of all, being around positive, inspiring people within these gorgeous surroundings. I intend to go back and explore the lavender products made on the farm as well as the cottage, and the lavender field in bloom in the summer.
This was a truly unique, refreshing experience which will forever hold a special place in my heart. I highly recommend Maria’s Farm for anyone who is looking for something truly special.

Gorgeous and fragrant lavender fields nestled in the beautiful hills north of Marengo, Illinois. Maria is a fabulous hostess and provides unique experiences. Check out the high teas or goat yoga! Wonderful lavender products made on the farm can be found in her shop.
