👍 Reviews of La Vakita Meat Market

A much needed resource in an area with limited food options and even fewer grocers. Some items are priced higher than I would expect (fresh salsa for example). However, a local store in a convenient location is worth supporting. The tortilla selection is good. I appreciate that I don’t need to drive 30+ min to another store. I have stopped in a few times to get breakfast burritos and they have been fresh and delicious.

This store makes you feel right at home the moment you walk in. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff treats you like family. The prices are very reasonable, and the to-go food is absolutely excellent—fresh, flavorful, and convenient. Highly recommend stopping by!

These 1 star reviews are nothing but ridiculous!! We only buy our meats here. Reasonably priced and absolutely tastey on the grill. We've bought chicken, hamburger, pork steaks, New York strips and roast and they have been amazing every time!!! Also, swing in to grab a breakfast burrito as much as possible!! They are the best!! If someone doesn't get English.....there's always someone there who can translate! These complainers need to stick with McDonald's!!!

Yesterday I bought 3 lbs of steak from this place and when I brought it home to cook it, the steak was dark brown along the edges. Me thinking it was ok I removed the brown parts and cooked it and served my family. They all got so sick from the steak by food poisoning. Please smell and check the meat before if you must or save yourself the money at this over priced place and buy your meat elsewhere. It's definitely not worth it.

This place is a hidden gem. Our parents live nearby and it’s nice to be able to buy authentic ingredients for our meals. If we don’t have time to cook, the tamales and burritos hit the spot. Best soup in Southwest Tucson - the vegetable queso Sopa so amazing. So happy to have this local crew - staff is friendly and helpful.

I hesitated to write this review but after multiple visits buying food from there I am compelled to share my experience. I bought ground beef and it was spoiled. Another time I bought tortillas and they were moldy. Their salsa is not appealing to to your taste buds whatsoever. Each time I called to get the issue corrected their is no one that speaks English. The cashier lady says she doesn’t know English and hangs up on you. Then the guy in the meat department doesn’t speak English and says the same Spanish words over and over. Lets mention this business is located right outside my retirement community where we all speak English. Several off my neighbors are fed up with this store and their disgusting ways.
