I've been a JAX customer for 20+ years. Unfortunately, after my last Broomfield location experience... I'm done spending my money here.

The brands they carry are quality brands, the selection has slowly decreased, but the customer service is terrible.

My experience over the last couple of years has been a steady decline in customer service. Employees act annoyed when asked a question (I must be interrupting their social time with other workers). The Stihl section is the worst. But Archery is a close second.

This used to be a cool place to go. But now JAX has nothing to offer. Incompetent employees, high prices, terrible service.

There are better shops on the front range for Hunting and Fishing, Ranch and Pet supplies, and Camping and Hiking. A quick search online and you will also find better prices.

No wonder JAX Broomfield is usually empty.

This store has great individuals from manager Timothy on down. Every individual has a great attitude from the gm to the cashies. I have a medical condition that causes me to need to ride mobility devices, I have systemic lupus, fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, complex regional pain syndrome also known as suicide disease, peripheral neuropathy, and lock knee syndrome, which makes it hard for me to ride an electric shopping cart because my knee will lock out in a bent position, this even happens while in a vehicle and I have an electric skateboard and a trailer that attaches to it for my service dog and to put bags on. The store management is very welcoming to that and helps me where I need the help. All of the boards have lights and reflective markers that help others see us for safety reasons.

Either they have a company policy of never letting a guest go unacknowledged, because numerous times (no less than 10x) throughout our browsing we were checked on; or they thought we were shoplifting. Call them friendly and helpful for the upside on that. Huge selection of products, everyone ready to help. Not too amazing of sales this moment.

I reached out to inquire about a Patagonia flannel shirt, first via email. After sending three emails without receiving a response, I decided to call. I spoke with Brian, who seemed unaware of the company policy or stock availability. He assured me he would get back to me the same day, but I never heard from him again.

When I called back, I spoke with Mary, who gave me conflicting information. She stated they would honor the price if I came into the store but that it wouldn’t apply for online orders, which made no sense. When I asked to speak to a manager, Mary hung up on me.

The customer service was disappointing, to say the least. I hope management sees this review because customer service is crucial, whether you enjoy your job or not. Needless to say, I won’t be shopping here again and can’t recommend this store to others.

It baffles me how they have an overall 4.6 rating, really. Anyone dealing with the Stihl shop knows what I'm talking about. 3 weeks to touch anything because they have some bizarro system of a roving mechanic who roves from Jax store to Jax store. No wonder it takes 3 weeks for a tune up. God help you if you have warranty work too. They soak you for fees Stihl won't cover. Done with this place. I'm going to Ace from now on, at least they pick up the phone and/or call back. You've been warned!

Update: Not only are they slow, they're incompetent. After the issue they 'resolved' re-occurred we discovered they overlooked the real failed part and just put it back together. They're either incompetent or hoped it would fail again and return to them for another job. Go elsewhere.

Update: Adding in photo for reference. You don't need to be a mechanic to see this part has 'something seriously wrong' with it. And, yes they crammed it back in the equipment and sent it off that way. Not an easy task. You literally have to shove it together to re-insert that spring.
I'll call your service line, but I'm guessing nothing will come of it. I mean, if your willing to literally wrestle that totally jacked up spring (clearly defective from the factory) back into the equipment rather than address the issue, why would you address a customer concern?

What a great addition to the neighborhood! Broomfield has become the mecca of outdoor gear. This store is unassumingly MASSIVE. All of the items are logically placed making it very easy to find what your looking for. I found the staff to be very knowledgeable and helpful- will come here again.

We have been going here for years now. My dog's always love the place and everyone that works there adds to the good time. A very dog friendly place with unique merchandise. Check it out!

We're not local but visit family in Broomfield a few times a year. JAX is a stop we always make. Of course, there's outdoor gear, but also food items, clothing, toys (both children's and pet) and a cafe with ice cream & coffee. This time I found a hat for our upcoming trip to Joshua Tree and we always buy food items as gifts for family. We love this place!
