Ikedaā€™s ā€“ 5/5 Stars

Ikedaā€™s is a hidden gem that combines the best of a specialty grocery store and a roadside diner, and itā€™s worth every bit of the hype. Whether youā€™re stopping at the Davis or Auburn location, youā€™re in for something special.

Letā€™s start with the piesā€”specifically, the Razzleberry Pie. Itā€™s always fresh, bursting with flavor, and easily one of the best Iā€™ve ever had. Pair that with one of their huge, made-to-order burgers, and youā€™ve got a meal worth the drive. My go-to is the Ortega and Avocado Burger with onion rings and baconā€”itā€™s packed with flavor and cooked perfectly every time.

The Auburn location is the heart of the operation. Itā€™s where the magic happensā€”tamales, pies, cobblers, all made fresh daily. Plus, it has a burger shop attached, offering hot food you can enjoy while browsing their incredible selection of goods. The Davis location is a bit more focused on fresh produce, with a larger selection of fruits and vegetables, but it still delivers the same high-quality tamales and baked goods delivered daily from Auburn.

What sets Ikedaā€™s apart is the unique assortment of items you wonā€™t find at big commercial grocery stores. Their shelves are stocked with specialty hot sauces, marinades, dried fruit, wine, and top-notch meats. Everything feels curated and personal, with an emphasis on supporting small, privately owned businesses.

Itā€™s always bustling, and parking can be a little tricky, but trust meā€”itā€™s worth it. Whether youā€™re picking up fresh produce, browsing the shelves for a new favorite hot sauce, or indulging in one of their unbeatable pies or tamales, Ikedaā€™s is a must-visit.

Great place to stop in for a bite, fresh pies, hot sauces, local produce, baking ingredients, and even flowers for your lover. The restaurant offers counter service offering many different burger and sandwich options, one to note is the dungeoness crab sandwich. They have many flavors of pies that are sold in whole or in slices, all which are fresh and delicious. The store side of the joint is full of meats, cheeses, even more pies, and baked goods they make in shop. They also offer some groceries mostly flours, grains, spices and produce along with a large selection of drinks in the back. Plenty of spots to sit for a quick meal. Bathrooms are available too. I ordered the Tasty burger and turkey burger for reference, both were solid burgers especially the bun.

Nice grocery store in Auburn. Good location for a pit stop on the way to Tahoe. Lots of grocery items to choose from, including their famous pies. The famous burger was surprisingly delicious! But the wait time can be significant, especially during summer weekends. The smallish parking lot makes it difficult to find a spot, although thereā€™s some street parking nearby.

A great stop for lunch on a road trip. I got the tri-tip sandwich with mushrooms and circle fries.

Note: the tri-tip sandwich comes with this sauce that is OUT OF THIS WORLD.

Curly fries are decent. Would come back on a road trip.

Also trying the chicken pot pie later tn. Will update later.

We always stop at Ikedas on our way to my in-laws (in CA) And on our way back home (NV). The place has everything you need if you are hungry or to make a fresh and delicious meal. The pies, sandwiches etc etc OMG everything is great. Service is friendly and fast. The place is busy every time we stopped by. A must go!

Went for the first time after seeing them on Instagram. So so delicious, the beer battered fries are some of the best I've ever had. The burger was great and the Marionberry pie was so good and not too sweet. Very cute little shop inside, we got our food pretty fast considering how busy they were.
