Hop Butcher for the World kicked off my 2025 Chicago brewery exploration, and it absolutely set the bar high. Amazing spot with a cool, laid-back vibe and a killer variety of beers. Everything I tried was packed with flavor—these folks clearly know what they’re doing. The space feels modern but not overdone, and it’s the kind of place where you can hang out for a while and just enjoy what’s in your glass. If you’re into hops, this is a must-visit in Chicago.

Great Beers & Outstanding staff!

Hop Butcher makes incredible beers. They have a deep IPA line up with westys and neipas. Single to Triple. A few lighter pilsners and lagers. Plus a dark stout or two.

I tried about 12 4oz pours and everything was premium. The last one was a triple IPA and probably my favorite. Sylvia was my beertender and was SUPERB. Friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Nick the manager was a hoot! A happier man you will not find. Enthusiasm & Joy overflowing.

Tap room is cool. Cement bar, wood tables and benches. Two different areas plus a take out room. Many many cans to go + merch.

I really like the decor. Several Ipa's on draught and other styles as well. The staff is friendly. They have a small patio and there is a room with merch and to-go beers

First, I love some Hop Butcher beer, and I'm glad they've found a permanent space. But on a recent visit, the service was pathetically slow, and several of their styles were sold out from draft. Saving grace: happy hour is a solid discount, and the to-go cans are an excellent deal for the beer quality. Worth at, and maybe that was an off day.

This place kicks a$$! Hands down one of the best purveyors, and master level IPA maker in the entirety of the Midwest. The only other brewery that's on par in my mind is Burial in Asheville, NC. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Cheers gents. Worth the drive from the Suburbs!

If you want the best hop featured beers in the world, do not hesitate. The menu is full of Hazy Hoppy deliciousness. There are three rooms here to suit your needs. You can shop and taste on one side with a beautiful set of double coolers stocked with those colorful and intriguing images from Dan Grzeca and a few bits of merchandise. In the middle is a nice quiet game type room with high tables and room to stand. On the other side is the bar and seating area. The room is warm and friendly with a giant mural and soft horizontal wood paneled walls. Bathroom is nice and clean if thats your thing.
Staff is always friendly helpful and not too overwhelming. Street parking usually available. The hops are the tops. Enjoy.

IPA brewery. The Lady Octopus was great had to get 4 cans to go it packs a real punch. The dou le blazed milkshake needs a to go option.
