Listen, are the cabins a bit old, yes, is it a bit further away from the lake, yes, but none of that matters when you're in such a beautiful place that our creator left for us to be in awe about. All in all, it was a great place to rest my neck at the end of a long day of fish-slaying! Also, was a great place to hang out with all the family and friends that came up for the trip, outside or inside our cabin. Great prices also. So go get you some beautiful scenery in God's country ๐Ÿ™

Ellenor is the nicest most accommodating guest ranch owner!
Plus, Our cabin was super clean and had more than everything we needed.. the playground has ballls, jenga blocks, kids basketballs and all kinds of stuff that my three kids ages 9,7,3.
The trading post down the road is super expensive, the staff is rude and itโ€™s crazy busy and not kid friendly. If you have kids and want some pure family fun. This is the place to be!

The 4 star rating is for the friendliness of the staff and owners. As far as the cabins went, they get a -5 stars rating. They were horrible, but we did not have a choice of where to stay. They were basically warped fiberboard walls with huge gaps. Plus there were tons of flies and few spiders thanks to the gaps in the doors.

This is a Hidden gem at Taylor Reservoir. Rustic glamping in a gorgeous setting! My husband and I are huge fans of Eleanor and Bill and the hospitality they offer.

Holts is in desperate need of an update! It is very dated and uncomfortable to stay. When you rent a cabin you expect it to be cozy. There's no lock on the doors, our heater in cabin 16 didn't work and we were so cold at night we wore hoodies to bed. You don't want to sit on the couch and relax because it's so dirty and old. My children wanted to sleep in the truck because they were scared of getting bed bugs and didn't want to put their bags on the ground or beds. We had duct tape closing holes in the shower. You definitely don't want to walk about in anything other than shoes. The freezer was dirty and the refrigerator showed it was low, but all of our food froze. The only positive thing was the lady in the office was very nice and we had free firewood.

We've stayed at Holts a few times over the past couple years and we will most likely look for other lodging next time in Taylor Park. The fact is these are extremely run down cabins in need up updating and repair. The good part about staying at Holts is the price and it's better than a tent. That's about it. Our last stay was the one that will make us not come back. The heater in our cabin was shot and if I had to guess, was leaking carbon monoxide but you wouldn't know since there is no detector. The heat exchanger was cracking and popping tremendously and we all woke up with a headache the following morning. Beside that, you will most likely find mouse droppings all over the place including the counter tops, completely shot beds and pillows, sagging flooring and lack of or extreme water pressure depending on what cabin you are in. One moment that just makes us laugh is a couple times ago we rented a cabin but ended up needing to switch to a different one and was offered their "Newly remodeled mobile home" so we went to take a look expecting something pretty decent. Walked in and was just utterly shocked. I'm not exactly sure what they call remodeled but as far as I could tell there was newish linoleum flooring in the kitchen and they used several gallons of Kiltz to cover up who knows what. What was funny was there was a piece of the ceiling they forgot to kiltz above the sink behind a trim board that was covered in stains and who knows what, I can only imagine what they covered up on the rest of the place. We always leave thinking how great this place could be if someone would spend a little money on them and fix them up. If nothing else make them safe and rodent free. We don't need much when staying at rustic cabins for our ATV trips but these are just in terrible neglect.

Just love it. It is our 3rd year visiting for Father's Day weekend. It has a vintage vibe, and that's what makes it feel like a cabin. We always see moose.
