I had to try Heid’s original location I was disappointed. I have heard so much about this Syracuse tradition. Especially the fries, well mine were double cooked and tasted like the grease and small. I complained and they said that’s the way they come? Look at the picture you be the judge! I did like the sausage but not the 10 dollars price. The hot dogs were very small for the price 6 dollars for a chili dog “ Really”The beer was excellent.. not sure I would go back unless they run price specials!

These dogs are simply the best. They grill them to perfection. Great fries, and I have to say it's one of those iconic stops you have to make. The young man taking our order was so funny that he could be a stand-up comic.
One of our groups ordered the cheese steak, and it was delicious.

The hot dogs here are far from good. I have had better hot dogs from an Oscar Myers pack. The price of $6 for one dog is outrageous. The place is cute, but the reason I didn't go lower is because the food wasn't actively bad.

The taste of the dog is subpar. The texture is very tough because the case that is used on these dogs is way to thick. This creates a texture in the dog while chewing that is less than optimal. The chili is ok nothing much to comment on. But the price is outrageously expensive.

I give it 1 star shy of 5 due to the price. 5 cents shy of $5. for a hotdog! 😲🤦‍♂️ That's crazy. But they are good. I'm a truck driver out of Virginia, and I first tried this place back in July of last year (2023) after some random people I was talking to at a local diner recommended trying this place. I think I was told this was the oldest eatery in town or something like that. So this is my 2nd time eating here. I got the Snappy dog and Frank dog. The snappy has a slightly distinct taste compared to the traditional frank dog. Both dogs (w/ chili & onion) are pretty good. I just think they're overpriced compared to what I'm used to back home. Not a fan of the fries, but I do like the baked beans. I'll try the onion rings next time I'm passing thru.
Sadly, they don't have 18-wheeler parking, but if you're bobtail, they can accommodate.

This is a Syracuse staple. Whether you're a visitor or resident, this is a must. Great place to visit year round but especially great in the summer. They have a ton of outdoor seating, live music, and an ice cream shop next door. If you just want hot dogs and fries, there's a kiosk by the live stage that has a limited menu for when it gets busy in the summer.

Not only is it *the* place to have a Hoffman frank or coney - they have an amazing team with friendly and engaging customer service. We celebrate my late dad’s birthday there every year and I just took a friend from DC to grab a coney (she was even offered a sample to try since she’d never had one) since she missed having a “Dome dog” at her first SU game. Pictures: this year’s celebration of Dad.

I had 2 of their Texas chili dogs for lunch today. $15.66 which didn't include a drink. Hands down the most disappointing hot dogs I've ever tried. The rolls were dry and the chili tasteless. I say tried because even if they were free I wouldn't eat them. The serve hot dogs and the line moves incredibly slow. Ugh!!

Don't get me wrong the place itself feels nice and the people working were nice but the prices. I ordered 3 plain hot dogs and they ended up being 17.00$ on the dot. Bread broke almost instantly when I picked it up and hot dogs tasted average store bought.
