Based on the quality of the food, this place is overpriced. We went in a group of 6. Most of the food was just okay. Some dishes where better than others, like the Salmon. But the Gnocchi was more about the chilli oil than the mushrooms and pesto - detracting from the dish. The steak was just okay, and the salads were bland.

For dessert, the tart had no flavor and the mousse tasted more like whipped cream, than chocolate.

Overall, it went from overly spicy to not nearly enough. We have been to far better restaurants at a fraction of the cost.

But, what made it a less than acceptable experience were the cleanliness of the bathroom. According to my wife and daughter and her friends, the ladies bathroom was gross, with water or something worse on the floors.

My wife and I really enjoyed the seafood and the atmosphere of this restaurant. The outdoor seating had a beautiful view of the capital building and the white wine mussels were some of the best we've ever had. The cocktail options were also interesting and delicious. I wouldn't hesitate to come again.

I am continually impressed by the food, menu, service, and overall atmosphere at Hayward House since its opening. From the moment you walk in, the welcoming ambiance sets the tone for a wonderful dining experience. The menu offers a fantastic variety, with each dish thoughtfully crafted to deliver fresh, delicious flavors. Every bite is a true delight!

The service is top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and well cared for. It’s evident that the team at Hayward House genuinely cares about creating an exceptional dining experience.

Whether you're stopping by for a casual meal or celebrating a special occasion, the overall atmosphere is always inviting and warm. Hayward House has truly become a standout in the area, and I can't recommend it enough. Every visit has been nothing short of amazing!

The food presentation is very good!. Unfortunately my steak tasted burnt from the grill marks.. the meat was good and tender but the burnt taste was overwhelming. The French onion soup was not very good.

The French onion soup was good but the cheese was lukewarm and so rubbery and difficult to eat and the bread was saturated. My huevos rancheros, ordered with over easy egg and medium rare steak first came out with a sunnyside up egg with raw whites. That was replaced with (same?) over hard eggs that the manager grabbed and took away after seeing them. Finally got over easy eggs but the steak was hammered and the tomato was sweet tinny nastiness. Server was very good when present but disappeared too often too long. Fried chicken we got for takeout for our son was thrown away because it was overcooked salty chicken sawdust. Because of the lousy food and service, I will never come back to this place and would warn away anyone else.

Get the whipped feta. I crave it and think about it and it is my newest obsession. The wait staff is very helpful and the martinis are always so good. Perfect place to have dinner with your friends!

My girlfriend and I had our Valentines Day dinner and everything was top notch. Our server was awesome and everything out amazing and delicious. The Brussels were outstanding and the short ribs ragu and the cobia were amazing.

We were really looking forward to trying this place, but we were really disappointed. The service was okay, waitress got my drink wrong but that’s not a big deal. The food is where it all went wrong.
The best part was the crab soup- great flavor & has a kick of spiciness. The steak & eggs were practically blasphemous. We have never ever seen anyone cut a steak & serve it. That was shocking & disappointing. The eggs themselves were extremely dry- my husband didn’t even eat them. The bun of the chicken sandwich was broken/dry/old. The sandwich itself smelt funny & I determined it was old lettuce. Moreover- the fries themselves were old.
Overall less than stellar experience & won’t be returning.
