We love small wineries - especially those with great wine and social conscience. One of our favorites is Hayseed and Housdon in Paso Robles. It's a must visit! Ted and Holli are uber hospitable, their pricing is reasonable, and best of all their wines are delicious. Each wine they sell raises money for a local nonprofit. Their downtown "garage" tasting location is comfortable and super fun.

If you find yourself in downtown Paso make the walk over to Hayseed and Housdon. Ted will make you feel right at home and walk you through their accessable and delicious tasting menu. My favorite part is that each of their wines profit share with local charities that support their community!

"I've probably done over 100 wine tastings and this was easily one of the most enjoyable in terms of engagement, education and the actual tasting and quality of the wines. I was drawn to H&H for the wine profile and the philanthropic aspect of the business. What Ted is doing with local non-profits is extremely admirable, but I thought it might bias my tasting because I wanted to like the wines because of it. Fortunately, no bias was necessary! The philosophy of often using cooler climate fruit, especially in the Paso area is somewhat unique, but it seemed to fit the types of wines that we tend to enjoy the most. The wines were amazing, especially the limited quantity Reserve Grenache, which also sported one of the most beautiful and creative "labels" I've seen on a wine bottle. Ted's story and storytelling are great, as are the wines. Thank you for a truly memorable experience and please keep doing what you are doing... so many people benefit from your generosity and we benefit from the wine! We are hoping to have a long, mutually beneficial relationship with Hayseed and Housdon!"

My wife and I came here with our pup to enjoy some wine before dinner. We were greeted with open arms and friendly smiles. The knowledge of wine coupled with great taste made this experience wonderful. Lastly, the vibes and feel of the atmosphere/ environment was romantic and fun. Thank you for the bowl of water for my pup, I recommend checking this place out.

While putting together a Paso trip, I stumbled across this little wine garage so we added it to our list. Boy I'm glad I did. The vibe is so different from other places, just a lot more relaxed. Its a small but intimate space. There was no one else there so we had plenty of 1 on 1 time with the winemaker himself, guiding us through each wine and each story. The wines themselves were very delicious and its a block off the main square, so its super easy to fit a stop in. Try it!
