I want to start by saying that the employees in this bike shop were very kind and a joy to be around. Everything else with the bike itself left much to be desired. I have taken this bike out on two small rides now. The first ride, the tubeless set up that I had installed, left me with a flat rear tire before even getting on the trial. This was some what of an ordeal having the shop do this. The bike was supposed to be done Thursday. Come Friday I’m told the bike is done, I get there the bike isn’t done. Then they say one hour and three hours later. The bike is dropping air in the rear tire. It’s supposedly finally fixed but I get on the first ride and I’m in the same position. Then on todays ride through some wash beds the handle base go completely side ways since the stem was never fully tightened. I ended up being able to completely move it side to side with ease. Now going over this bike I am torquing nearly all the bolts that are left hand tightened. Overall nice guys but I don’t think I’d rely on them for fully assembling a bike for mountain trails or a single tune up as the last two rides have left me working on my brand new bike both times.

Firstly, the coffee is fantastic and prepared fresh. Secondly, I need one of these bikes, so watch out. You may come in for a good cup of coffee but leave with an excellent conversation and a lovely new bike. Don and the community were a great first introduction to Carefree. This is a special place in an even more special town.

Amazing experience! Can't recommend this shop enough. Wife & I demoed some emtbs, fell in love with the power, and bought 2. So happy we purchased here. Don is one of the most pleasant & stand up business owners we've ever dealt with. He's a man of his word and a total pleasure to be around. As we frequent the area often, Grinds & Gears in Carefree will definitely be our favorite shop. Thank you Don & team! See you soon! -T&T

Great shop. Just picked up an E-assist MTB for my wife and she LOVES it. Mike and Don took the time, including staying open late, to answer all her questions, let her try multiple brands and models and get her on the right bike. They even built the final one same day so she could take it with her. And great coffee too! Thanks again guys and see you soon.

Rented a mountain bike and it was amazing! Don is really nice. They gave great advice about the trails and a ride to the trails. I’m excited to go again!

Awesome to have a mid-ride coffee shop stop in this area. Plenty of space to store your bike and grab a snack. Owner seemed really nice and accommodating to the group riders as well.

Rented a full-suspension MTB from Don and the friendly crew here. They were extremely accommodating and informative, going out of their way to help. Joey took care in fitting me with a suitable bike (and helmet), which was in tip top shape and perfect for the cross-country riding I wanted to do nearby. Thanks to Don and Joey for really hooking up this out-of-towner in need of a trail fix. I'll be back!

They’re closed on Mondays but that doesn’t stop their stupid truck drivers from getting in your way.
