Gorzynski Ornery Farm comes to the Union Square Greenmarket on Saturdays from 8am-4pm, through most of the year in NYC and has been coming since 1979. The owners father John Gorzynski and son Tim Gorzynski and family are true experts in farming and sustainability and very friendly to talk to and learn from and have many special varieties of fruits and vegetables and eggs. John served many seats on farmer boards in NY state and was founding chair of the northeast organic farming association NOFA. Gorzynski is not certified organic, but is a more better and more strictly organic no-spray farm with natural fertilizers that is well beyond usda organic standards. You can get amazing flavors and nutritional benefits from cooking the flavorful garlics, radishes, mustards, brassicas, and even the root vegetables in the winter.
