Love love love. I’m gluten intolerant so to have everything in the buffet clearly marked is so wonderful! And the food is delicious. Great coffee too. Will be coming back a few times I think!

This place is great, is open 24 hours and you can find all groceries you need plus a buffet with fresh fruits, salads and hot dishes. All the staff was really nice too.

My only complaint is that the tables were always dirty. While visiting NYC, we stopped by often since it was close to the hotel but it didn’t matter if it was 9am or 2am, the tables were always dirty.

The best thing about this place is that it is open 24 hours and that includes the buffet, which is a variety of hot dishes as well as salads and fruit, everything is fresh and clean.

On the downside, it's not like an average supermarket, I didn't find stuff I'd consider "basic" like brie, pretzels, sparkling water, wrapped lemon cake, etc. (they do have Lay's chips which is a favorite of mine but only in small pricey size).

The market seems to specialise in Asian food, and of every item there are countless varieties. Unfortunately as I cannot read the signs, I didn't try any of that.

PS: it would be good if more of the staff could speak English...

Gastro Market is a nice gem in the midtown Theatre District located on 55th Street and Broadway. It’s a pleasant convenience store that is very clean, well-organized and opens 24/7. It has a wide selection of American and Asian groceries (such as frozen foods, condiments, instant noodles, etc.), produce, household goods, as well as a self-served hot deli foods, salad & fruit bar, make to order cafe and pastries. Its hot deli foods are tasty with lots of choice and the price is fairly reasonable. I live nearby and I’ve thankfully found this store as it literally saves me the hassle of getting some Asian foods without traveling all the way to K-Town or C-Town. 👍

So I thought I could save some money by buying cold food instead of the hot bar, but the Coraline coffee was almost eight dollars! I haven't even seen that movie!!! Oh well, lesson learned. On the upside, I have a lot of food for later.

I’m menopausal, I need hydration, I need sweets and a nice selection of snacks. They have it all, the food bar was incredible.
