Picked up a box of mixed mushrooms today. This place is great! Friendly, knowledgable and mushrooms are very high quality. I had some oyster mushrooms on hand from a local grocery and some from Four Star. Cooked them both and compared. Clear winner was Four Star. Just know that they are geared to trade sales with some retail. This means you will buy a big box so be sure there's room in the fridge.

I went there today for the first time and came home with the most beautiful, fragrant, delicious mushrooms I’ve ever had. Joe is fantastic and took us on a tour where we could see the mushrooms in their grow rooms. It was more than I ever imagined, it was fantastic. Their facility is so clean and controlled, something I also was not expecting. Thank you, Joe. I actually ordered mushrooms as a unique gift for my boyfriends birthday because he always looks for interesting ingredients at the grocery store. I ordered one pound of each type of mushroom and he was SO excited!! They looked beautiful and tasted even better. Plus, they lasted for almost a month! Great first experience! I was looking for local Lion’s Mane mushrooms. Four Star Mushrooms did not disappoint. Joe was very fast responding to my questions through email. He directed me exactly where I needed to go to find my Lion’s Mane powder. I pulled up to the store front and my order was ready to go. I highly recommend Four Star Mushrooms. Four Star Mushrooms produce the best gourmet mushrooms available in the Chicagoland area. I have ordered from Joe and Four Star Mushrooms twice so far. Both times, my week was made. I love mushrooms and enjoy River Valley Ranch mushrooms as well, but, having these delivered to my house, is even better.

I am vegan and have used these mushrooms to make mapo tofu, fried rice, and fried mushrooms that were some of the best dishes I have ever made. A very valuable resource nearby!
