The dude at the register with glasses and a sad look is miserable. Always gives me attitude even though I never had a conversation with him. I’ve had very simple exchanges but his misery cannot be sealed. If you hate your job so much, then leave. You have been there for years and it saddens me you have not made an effort to improve yourself. We are all going through something, but that doesn’t give us the right to be jerks to others. Grow up.

Plus, the prices aren’t the greatest. Which is why so many of the locals have began purchasing their produce from the stand right across the street.

Overall, the store is well-organized and stocked, it’s clean and runs efficiently. Prices are competitive with Whole Foods, so if you like supporting your local shop and being part of something bigger than yourself, this is a great way to go. I pay for membership, although I only shop there 1-2 times a month.

I would say morale may be a bit low among the workers. I’ve been chastised for returning brown, dry avocados, went home once with damaged produce after a purchase and was incorrectly charged a few times for other items. So the staff gets a bit annoyed when I’m checking prices because every now and then I feel like I have to do my job for the cashiers. One in particular felt the need to go out of her way to watch me as I shop, but I understand the paranoia these days. As I have nothing to hide, this doesn’t affect me but it could set others off.

All this to say that as a member of the coop and the community, I'm there to shop and support the cooperative, not to subtract from it. Investing in security cameras may be helpful.

Love everything is Non GMO and/ or organic. Has selection little of everything you need. To me a smaller version of whole foods but no having to read various labels see what non gmo or organic. Open from 6am- midnight. Holidays vary. If you are a member get discount on all you purchase. Plus get money back yearly from purchases call dividends to use.

I’ve been shopping here for years.
The quality is unmatched for the price.
Excellent selection of everyday organics and non organics.

The staff seem to have poor quality customer service but for the price and selection that isn’t a concern to me.

Wide range of reputable organic brands & products but much of the produce/inventory are comprised due to poor quality control, many items airtight seals are broken, produce is always moldy or bruised, frozen items are neglected and left to thaw and melt before being stocked in the freezers. (CHECK All ITEMS THOROUGHLY FOR COMPROMISED PACKAGING!)
It’s a shame this establishment could have the potential to be a substantial competitor to all the other natural grocery store enterprises in Brooklyn however they’ll never franchise due to the miss management of the inept administration team that’s been there for over a decade, I don’t know which owner they’re related to but the mediocre in-optimal management of the store is very observable. every encounter I’ve had with an admin, they always come off like they don’t want to work there, which is crazy cause I know individuals 10 times more competent and proficient that would be happy to manage/optimize this place without being ungrateful, passive aggressive, and egocentric.

P.S.A
Be wary a couple of the cashiers like to take their day out on your groceries by slamming them on the counter and throwing them into your checkout bag.

my opinion, if you don’t appreciate your position you shouldn’t have it, you’re driving your business into the ground and behaving like you’re not getting payed enough to stand around, stalk attractive customers around the store and occasionally do data entry/bookkeeping…the entitlement is wild, some of em literally act like spoiled children

Great meat and produce. Plenty of vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and non-dairy options. Beware of long lines so plan accordingly (usually absurd long lines between five and seven). Juice bar is best in the neighborhood.
