This little joint has the best bbq I've found in the state so far. Their pulled pork and brisket are delicious. I'm from Denver but have relatives down in Black Forest. Every time I visit them, I swing by the Firehouse on my way home to secure a pound of brisket.

*NOTE* - Once they sell out of brisket or another item, that's it for the day. Brisket can be all gone by 4pm so you have to get there much earlier. They have great bbq sauces, but I don't use them often as I'm mainly in it for the meat flavor. Plenty delicious to eat their bbq without sauce!

Nestled inside in the back of a convenient store, it's also easier to enter through their back entrance where they have a few parking spots if you're lucky enough to snag one. GET THAT BRISKET. It's worth the price tag.

Absolutely fantastic! This barbecue spot exceeded all expectations. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by friendly staff and the delicious aroma of smoked meats. The moist brisket was melt-in-your-mouth tender, with a smoky flavor that was perfectly balanced, though the homemade sauces took everything to the next level! The sides were just as impressive, especially the mashed potatoes and the beans. The portions were generous, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Hands down the best barbecue we’ve had in a long time. Highly recommend this place to any BBQ lover!”

BBQ was excellent, staff was friendly, just some down right good Texas BBQ! We all had the brisket and was not disappointed Hot links are really good as well. Beans were good, definitely liked the Western Beans the best, green beans were not bad. This is our first time here and we will be back.

We ordered the Family Pack #2 with double brisket. It’s was really good. The meat was sweet and tangy not too much smoke flavor. However I love the smoke flavor. Still great barbecue. The smell alone makes your mouth water. The first bite was like a tsunami hitting my mouth. Nothing like a down home bbq dinner. Great food

Firehouse on the Run is in a perfect location for me.

I live in Black Forest off of Hodgen; Firehouse on the Run is closer to me than anything on Interest Drive

I have enjoyed sitting down inside for a quick bite; enjoying some fresh air on their covered patio or sometimes as the title says; I'm on the run.

I understand prices have gone up; but they have everywhere else as well. I enjoy smoking meat however; I have no need to babysit meat for 14 hours; now that I have wonderful; tender; Texas BBQ just minutes from my home.

I enjoy the brisket; ribs, chicken; links; and pulled pork.

The sauces are great; and I really enjoy the jalapeño BBQ beans.
I hosted a group at my home recently and Firehouse on the Run had all my meat ready on a Saturday morning and it was a big hit for my group.

I would strongly recommend Firehouse on the Run for any catering needs you might have. The food was great; it was affordable; and they had everything ready on time.

I was a firefighter for 15 years; and love that this place is owned by local firefighters.

I'm a raving fan and Ill be back often.

The food here is awesome! Definitely a hole-in-the-wall type of place. I’ll come here occasionally when I’m working in Black Forest. It’s a nice treat every time I come. The service is really good. Everyone seems really friendly and welcoming. I really like that they’re really helpful and informative when you’re ordering, which helps a lot if you’re not too familiar with the menu. Their sauces are amazing btw!

In the picture I got the pulled pork sandwich with the western style beans. A staple for me.

Owner and employees are super cool and helpful.
Food is excellent quality and you can tell that they use high quality ingredients.
I drive 25 minutes to come get the western beans as well as the brisket!
Highly recommend this place as it is by far the BEST bbq in COLOSPGS

After reading reviews we decided to give this a try. I was sadly disappointed. The bbq is very average. The sauces are less than desirable to me. The servings are small for the expensive prices they charge. The green beans though were excellent if you like a southern style green bean. The staff was exceptionally friendly. Overall it's just meh!
