I called because I and several other people smelled gas at my house. They sent a technician promptly and he spent 45 minutes looking around and did not find any cause of a leak. And then when he was done, he indicated that his computer was telling me that there would be $125 charge for the service. No one ever told me about a charge when I originally called and in fact the technician said several times that he's never seen a charge like this before and it shouldn't be there. He encouraged me to call and get the charge removed. When I called I was informed that they were going to waive a $299 emergency charge (which nobody had ever mentioned before either) and that $125 service charge would stand even though it is a leased tank. It took me talking to five different people and 10 days to get it removed. Not very happy with this experience.

Filled up the next house over with my propane, I was out for over a week. They tried to convince me I used it all. I pushed and pushed and they finally sent someone out after I disputed all charges with the bank. They finally figured out it was their fault. No call, no apology. They filled the tank finally. They still have 45 bucks of mine floating around. Their excuse was that their printers were broken.... so they couldn't leave proof of delivery. They couldn't leave me proof of delivery because they didn't deliver to me. They also flagged my tank as not owned by me.Even though it clearly states on the side , it's customer owned. This company is rude, disorganized and will keep your money if they can get one over on you.

I live in Grass Valley, CA. I have no issues with the delivery team. They have been great. I requested a transmitter for the tank back in January. I started this request with C. H. who assured me on 1/26 I would have a transmitter placed within 2 weeks. 2/14 - no transmitter. I was told again (same person), the transmitter would be placed within a couple of days. 3/14 - again, (same person), I was told the transmitter would be placed in just a couple of days. Current date 3/28 - still no transmitter. Twice, I also filled out a “Contact Us” form on-line trying to determine whether or not a service order was even ever placed? According to the website I should have received a response within 2 business days - to date, no response. This just isn’t ok and reflects pretty poorly on the company. Not cool!

Great company. Bern with them for some time. Biggest complaint. Guages on tank not reliable. New customers should receive a warning about this. New persons to the area don't understand about slamming top of tank down to get correct reading due to a stuck Guage. They think it's full when it could be empty, which could leave them in a bad place. Thanks. John mitzel

This is a review about FerrellGas itself, not necessarily this specific location; I had an excellent experience with the delivery driver, and don't want this review to reflect poorly on the people who work at this particular location.

I had attempted for ~20 days in total to get my account set up and paid for, all the while my gas was dwindling down from the 25% mark. Their payment platform was experiencing a series of issues related to my account. Rejecting my browser configuration, first of all, despite following instructions in three different browsers. Then the phone service could not find my account number, verified as correct and active by each agent I spoke to. It took FerrellGas almost three weeks to finally have a member of their billing department call me to make the payment over-the-phone, human-to-human, despite numerous online chats and phone calls.

The delivery finally came when I was ~15%, horrifying levels in the winter. They were incredibly kind, but their tank was quite low, and I only got a partial fill-up; over the 60% line, so I cannot complain, but now I opened a new chat thread to request they finish my order at the "first time fill-up" price (I'm a new customer), but their online chat service does not preserve chat sessions, and instead you must open up a new session every time. I work as a web developer specifically managing enterprise B2C chat systems; that is a terrible user experience, and should be updated with a system that preserves the chat thread for the user to see, as well as the agent.

All in all, my experience with each human was kind and positive, but my experience with FerrellGas was absolutely dreadful. I attempted to go to AmeriGas, but alas, my landlord leases their tank from FerrellGas, so there is no options for me other than to deal with the oddities of this company.

I hope that your experience is more positive, if you decide to go with them. For me, I wish I could use a different company; I sank ~8 hours total attempting to resolve payment issues, and I'm a bit overwhelmed even thinking about my next fill-up. Let's hope they honor my original price and finish the fill-up I paid for!

UPDATE: It has now been over one week since my partial fill-up, and I still have not received the rest of my order. I cannot contact the local office directly, instead I must go through their corporate telephone or online chat service. I cannot describe the stress this has caused me.

I have requested several times to receive a delivery slip when I get a delivery. It can be placed under my mailbox in the newspaper slot which should be very convenient for the driver. SO far I have not received that delivery slip even after several requests.
