This place was awesome. We expected it to be a load of boring farm machinery, but in fact it is a collection of buildings moved from other parts of NY state. In most of the buildings was an interpreter dressed in period costume doing whatever was done in each building. They offered amazing insights into life in bygone days. Being a working farm, there are kitchen gardens and animals to see, too. Well worth the entrance fee. You can also get a combined ticket which gives entry to the art museum housed in a beautiful old mansion opposite.

The Farmers' Museum is a look into the past in rural America. One will see well maintained buildings and collections of antique farm equipment, as well as farm animals in a village setting. Visit the two floors of the tavern or take a ride on the antique carousel for a small fee.

A must visit when in Cooperstown. Beautiful grounds to explore. On site demonstrations of various crafts. Farm animals, and cooking demonstrations on certain days. They have a broom making class that would be awesome to be part.

We LOVE this hidden gem in Cooperstown. Do not skip it because you expect to be bored. It is so quaint and fun, especially for children to visit. From authentic NY houses and buildings to one very cool carved, wooden carousel (only $1 per ride) this place is fun exploring. You can expect to experience something different each time. Once we were able to go into the horse barn and learn/watch them put horse shoes on the horses. The blacksmith can usually be found making something and there are skilled folks making brooms, blankets, all on site. In addition there are lots of animals to see and interact with.

Tickets can be purchased on site. The carousel does close for an hour for lunch.

Before leaving, grab an ice cream cone in the snack shop and stop in the gift shop for some really great stuff.

Love coming to see the lights! My daughter got proposed to this year at glimmernights the day after Christmas! So glad I was able to be there to cherish the moment. I am so glad the carousel was open this year it made it more fun and we were able to warm up a little on a very chilly evening! Love to grab hot chocolate during our rounds! It seemed like there were alot more lights last year but we still had a great time and made alot of memories! I know my daughter was surprised to get engaged 💍 when we went!

This was a very cool plan for a field trip a d we learned a lot. All of the villagers were nice and well educated on their roles and were great with children! The tour guide was wonderful.

We had a wunderful day here. The broom maker explaind us a lot and let us see also the section about hop. That was very interesting. The historical carusell, the old farm houses and machines .... a visit worth for sure.

Very interesting place that had lots of historical buildings that had been moved from other areas. There were alot of tractors on display when we went and it was a very very enjoyable time. Loved the carousel!
