We went for lunch today. As others have noted, this food has extra flair! The service was outstanding as was the food! We had the guacamole, queso blanca, and elote fritters for appetizers. Especially LOVED the queso blanca and the fritters. Omg so delicious!! Then, my hubby had the beef shoulder entree. I had the cheese Tex Mex enchiladas. Outstanding!!! Definitely coming back!

Delicious. Not your average Mexican food; dishes have a twist and flair! Complimentary chips and salsa when you're seated. The restaurant itself is clean with nice decor. Staff was very friendly. Eva, our server, was fabulous. I recommend the pork belly tacos ! Spent $60 for two entrees and two drinks.

This was my first visit to Don Jose's. I ordered the Chicken Enchiladas, beans, rice, chips and salsa. I also asked if they had a hot sauce. WOW! The enchiladas were amazing!!! The sauce on top was flavorful. The rice and beans were seasoned well. The hot sauce was very spicy, which I liked and the salsa was great. I'll definitely be back!

Went for drinks on a busy Saturday night, waiter was attentive enough but it was busy. Had the Christmas Pom drink, it wasn’t my favorite but tried it to be festive and it looked pretty! My husband’s frozen drink was very good. He had the beef enchiladas I had the chicken bowl they were both delicious!! Best part was the warm tortilla chips with salsa! Loved the decor, small slot machines if you’re into that. We will be back soon and look forward to trying more drinks!!

Went to Don Jose’s last night for the First of many times. The place looks great! Our server was very attentive and got everything on our order perfect. The cocktails we had were very well done and creative. We started with the Elote fritters which were delicious, sweet with a great crispy exterior paired with the Jalepeno cream was a great start to the meal. My wife got the short rib with a butternut squash and peanut mole which had an incredible depth of flavor. Very nice portion size. I got the Birria which was cooked for 12 hours. It came as 3 tacos with consume to dip the tacos in. Often we are underwhelmed with Birria dining out but this one was really good, great developed flavor and the consume was a little thicker and more flavorful than some other restaurants.
Overall a great experience and we highly recommend for an upscale Mexican dining experience.

New restaurant in town we had to try. The service was excellent, very attentive! The atmosphere is nice, family friendly, low music so you can hear conversations. The food is unique and flavorful. I had the Tex Mex enchiladas and they were different than any I have had before. Not too spicy but very delicious. The guacamole was very good too, and we got chips and salsa no charge.
My husband had the quesadillas and thought they were very delicious.

It’s great to see another Mexican restaurant in New Lenox! The service was excellent, and our waitress was incredibly friendly. While the prices are on the higher side, the dishes reflect a gourmet twist on traditional Mexican cuisine. The portion sizes are moderate but satisfying. We’ll definitely be back!

These are the facts....
Nice decor and atmosphere, but we're never going back for the food. My husband's enchilada dinner consisted of burnt enchiladas on the ends but yet the food was cold, we only can assume that it was put in the oven but then sat out and got cold, we waited a decent time for our meal too...
I ordered two tacos and broccoli, the overall flavor wasn't horrendous, but I would never crave them again, the portion size is super small for two tacos that cost $12, I also ordered a side of broccoli which I would never recommend it was horrible, I had one bite and then didn't eat anything else, you can see in the pictures that has like a char but it's not grilled it was like burnt on the grill, with some liquid on the bottom. They didn't charge me for it, which I appreciate, and I didn't have to ask for that. We wanted the food to be awesome, but it was subpar...
I will also add that the waitress did not put our order into her tablet, so she forgot the broccoli, but on top of it not being good, I was just supposed to eat the broccoli separately after my tacos?
I definitely think some of the items need to be revamped.... People that really know excellent Mexican food are not going to be satisfied.
To the management, I will also be specific in that we were a little bit bummed that there was no pickled onions, carrots or jalapenos on our plates, where is the wow, factor?
