Started with Jim Cropsey back in 1955, I was in high school, he fresh out of college He started truck farming corn and strawberries to the city. He grew and brought in and housed migrant Jamaicans for help.
I set up a small retail stand across the street and sold a few bags of corn. He took it over the following year and expanded.
What a great guy and patient boss.

Cropsey and their farmer's market are such a gem for Clarkstown and Rockland. Local Healthy food, an education program, and volunteer opportunities - doesn't get any better.

Such a beautiful and special place in Rockland County. We get produce and grocery items at the farm store, and my kids love to visit the goats, pigs, and chickens and ducks!

I appreciate all the animals there, and sadly they are getting rid of more than half the animals! They are allowing 6 chickens and 1 rooster when there is chickens, ducks and goats. I got to enjoy all the animals there and learned so much about them too. It has brought so much joy to me, my family and many other kids. I'm so upset that they are getting rid of them, and I believe since it is community farm owned and sponsored by the town and the county it should be allowed more than 6 chickens and the rooster. Farther more in my eyes it is a huge piece of property!
