We could not have been happier with our experience at The Craftsman Wood Grille & Tap House. The food was top tier, but above and beyond that was the excellent and attentive service brought to us by Danielle, our server for the evening. Every question answered; every need met. Would definitely recommend and cannot wait to return.

The atmosphere and service is why this place gets 2 stars, by that I mean it saved it from an even lower rating. The food and cocktail were definitely not worth the price.

I went with my wife. We ordered the poutine, soft pretzel, margherita pizza, and bone-in ribeye. I also ordered the spicy peach margarita drink.

Poutine and pretzel were OK. The pizza was good. The ribeye was definitely a waste of money. I ordered it rare, it came blue. To their credit, they took it back and grilled it more, however they only seared one side to a complete crisp. It also didn't have much in the way of flavor, even with compound butter. The spicy peach drink was terrible.

I wouldn't recommend this place based on this experience. You can find better food and drinks for half the price.

Came for my mom's birthday was very impressed. The food was delish and so were the cocktails! Danielle deserves some props too! She was knowledgeable, attentive, bubbly/friendly, and overall a great server!! We will definitely be coming back!

Went for a word dinner. The service was amazing. They accommodate some health issues I have by switching out chairs at a high top. The ones at our table didn't have a back, to one from the outside bar that had a back. So the server happily helped me and was of great service.

The food was wonderful. We got apps and then dinner.

The only thing I recommend is fans for outside seating or some blinds to block the sun on the patio.

The crispy cauliflower dish was delicious. I've never had cauliflower cooked that well. It was a big portion too.

Great service, cute and cozy vibes, perfect for date night or dinner with friends and family. Loved the cocktails and the food was pretty good! Would come back here again. They have some creative dishes such as the bacon flight which was super yummy! I got the summer salad which was so refreshing, truffle fries which were very good and crispy and the artichoke dips - super yummy!!!

Update 2025 Just had another disappointing experience. Just ordered a Wedge salad, and some sweet potato fries. This totaled over 45 bucks which whole expensive I was OK with of the quality matched the price. Well I got home and went to enjoy the salad and found that it didn't have any dressing and was rather sad looking. Including pics for others.

my previous experience has been mix of positive and negative. I think the bar and bartenders do a nice job. The food and service remains to be spotty at best.

I was visiting Syracuse from out of town, and found Craftsman online and decided to check it out with a friend. We sat at the bar outside since the weather was nice, and the atmosphere was fun and lively, and it was a Monday night! We didn’t know what to order because the entire menu looked delicious, and we asked the bartender, Zeriah (I hope I spelled that right), to surprise with some cocktails. I was given a spicy watermelon mezcal margarita and my friend got surprised with the coconut dragonfruit margarita. We were blown away with the quality and creativity of the cocktails, and we had not even had the food yet! This was an experience on its own: we told her some flavor profiles that we enjoyed, and she gave us cocktails that we had never had before but perfectly matched our tastes. More places should have talented bartenders like this, that interact with the customers on that level. It’s so fun! For starters, we had the wings and the fries, and for entrees we had the salmon and the steak. All the food came out timely and was cooked to perfection. We ended with dessert and had a salted caramel cake and the lemon ricotta cheesecake, both of which were delicious. I’ve visited Syracuse a number of times and would say this is easily the best restaurant in town, due to the incredible service and the quality of the food and drinks. I cannot recommend this place more!
