I got a cornbeef sauqraut sandwhich on rye, the cornbeef was to tough for me . The bread it was on was delicious! My husband got a panini and it was excellent. On our way out the door we got two pieces of cake. I got the chocolate mouse they call it cake . The cake was dry. My husband got cheesecake it was great! I have been to cohens many times and this was the first time ever I had a dry cake so I'll keep going and going they have the best pastry and the people who work there are so nice!

Our first visit, easily earned a 4.5 star. We’d heard of this place, so stopped by on a very rainy Friday at 12:30 for lunch. Three of us total, one who uses a walker, so we went in the side entrance rather than through the narrow main bakery which would have been impossible. The classic Reuben was great, others had a chicken sandwich which looked good too. Of course I came home with some raisin pumpernickel and a few pastry. This is the type of bakery everyone needs near their home (but sadly for us, it’s a 2+ hour drive, so we’ll just keep in mind for our next visit). Glad this current family bought the business AND the original recipes for everything. A great find!!

First time the today March 16 2025. My only regret is I did not get there sooner. Delicious food, great friendly service, toast made with home made bread. I had the twin seeded bread. We stopped at the bakery counter on the way out. So much home made bread and cookies and cakes. Nap time…

Wow!! A hidden treasure just one street away from Canal in Ellenville!
Today was my first time there and boy was I surprised to see such beautiful pastries, cakes and breads.
I bought two croissants- chocolate and cinnamon, and rainbow cookies along with a pumpernickel raisin bread that is SO delicious.
They make coffees and they’re so friendly. The place is a total find, just 10 mus from Pine Bush too!

Got charged for an additional item I didn’t order. Receipts provided are vague, you don’t know what you paid for each item or what the pound price is. The biggest turn off is the “tip pressure” receipt. They give you a receipt with 4 boxes to choose from for various tipping levels. I had to hunt where to sign it, that area was at the top of the receipt. Who puts the total at the top? And when you are only bagging something out of the case for me to take to go, you actually think a tip is warranted? That’s your job, you are not special. I highly doubt that it’s still owned by anyone with the last name of Cohen anymore, that was obvious.

Visiting the area for some hiking and visiting with family. The host of our AirB&B recommended this place and even left a little treat for us from Cohen's when we arrived.

This place was simply amazing. The rugalach was some of the best I have ever had. The babka, cannolis, and raisin pumpernickel bread was amazing. We brought the baked goods to a family event and they were a hit.

This morning my wife had a bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich served on a roll and I had a "My Way" vagal with lox, cream cheese, brined jalapeno, onion, pepper and lemon juice. Both sandwiches were phenomenal. This place is a hidden gem.
