First visit to buy a steak at mattituck location - Got lunch - Italian Fuhgetaboutit hero - hero bread was soggy even though they put it on grill to warm/toast, barely. there was no seasoning at all- no mayo mustard salt pepper vinegar oil - no lettuce or tomato. Barely any peppers and mozzarella, wasn't great. Had to go home and try to salvage my lunch. hoping the 1lb $40 steak was worth it

The staff is fantastic and the food is great. The butcher meat is always great. The lunch items are great. Pretty much everything is great!

During one of our recent pick-up runs,’ we decided to stop in, buy lunch and check out the year-old boutique butcher shop and deli (Figure 1). The Center Cuts Two opened about a year ago in downtown Mattituck located about a mile just before Pellegrini Vineyards. The first Center Cuts launched in Roslyn. The meat counter (Figure 2) contains various cuts of fresh and pre-prepped meat ready for cooking. There is a good selection of Prime grade beef, but as this is an upscale place, the price is slightly higher than the same prime cuts at Stew Leonards but not outrageous or different enough to deter us from buying the prime. The choice grade beef looks to be about the same. The shop is clean, fresh, and inviting, so well worth a revisit.
The deli side (Figure 3) has a broad selection of hot and cold foods (MENU), all made to order. There are no tables or chairs, so this is a grab-and-go place which was fine as we were heading to some wineries where we could eat and enjoy a tasting. We need lunch to go, so the Caesar Salad with marinated steak tips for lunch was the first item ordered. The salad was fresh-cut romaine lettuce, a generous portion of small dices steak tips slightly warm, and a rich, creamy dressing (Figure 4). We added a side of Center Cuts Two homemade potato chip, which was fresh and crisp (Figure 5). Jo had the Butcher’s Burger fresh cooked to a medium as requested with cheese sitting on a warm bun (Figure 6). The side order of sweet potato fries was a miss; however, even though the receipt lists sweet potato fries and the package they came in is labeled sweet potato fries, we got regular fries piping hot but soft and with a bit too much residual oil. Overall, Center Cuts Two is a good place and perfect to grab food while on the North Fork wine trail.

Excellent local butcher selling quality meats, sandwiches, and other provisions. Staff are always awesome. We enjoy every visit and are never disappointed with our purchases.

Stay away from this place! First off we buy all our meats from restaurant depot, been doing so for 10 yrs. or more. We always buy N.Y. strip loin, cut it ourselves. Have bought all grades select, choice, prime, pretty much stick with prime and black angus. We were told that this place had amazing cuts of meat so we tried it. Bought two N.Y strip steaks at 33.99 a pound, really? 65.00 for two steaks. Okay so we went home and grilled them figuring they would have to be some of the best steaks we've had, WRONG!! Terrible gristle, chewy, full of tendons. Supposed to be prime, I'd say they were select cut at best, totally disappointed. 34.00 for steak not a problem but they should be like butter, won't be going back!

I ordered their signature burger which is ground short rib and brisket. It was freakin excellent!! Cooked medium rare nice thick slice of cheddar, toasted bun the freshest lettuce and tomato and just enough seasoning to let you know someone cares about their customers having a good experience. Which I certainly did.

I gave them 4 stars only because the take away packaging is kind of not what one would expect. Square aluminum tray with a plastic top for the fries which caused them to be really soggy since I had a twenty minute trip back to my shop and the burger came in a plastic fold over container that was completely not what I was expecting and had I not cracked it open on my way back my burger would have been really soggy.

But the burger was excellent and I will 100% be going back there again. They had meatballs in the showcase that looked of the hook. I'm thinking they may be next.

Prices were not terrible and service was definitely on point. The girl who answers the phone was perfect.

The Best!!! I bought hand cut pork chops, for a family dinner! They! We’re! Amazing!
They even gave me cooking hints and they came out perfect!!

Their already made food is a life saver when you don’t want to cook but still want a healthy choice !

I’d give it 6 stars if I could!!

Really impressive sandwiches and meat selections. Very clean place with friendly staff. The woman who gave a negative review on steaks looks like she doesn’t know how to cook. Don’t blame the butcher because you buy steaks from warehouses and cook like an amateur. The price reflect quality but when you can’t cook you can’t complain about the meat! Highly recommend Center Cuts!! Will definitely be back. Crispy chicken cutlets are great too.
