I usually attend every year but it was too hot this year to go to the parade and stay there all day long so I waited and went up about 6:00 in the evening to see Neal McCoy. If it had not been so hot I would have went up sooner. But at my age I cannot stand the Heat like I used to. But I love the Watermelon Festival. ? ? ? ? ?

My family is from Cave City and I love this place. It’s a small town with great people. CAVE CITY WATERMELONS ARE THE BEST! If you read the one star review at the bottom I don’t think they were in the right place or reviewing the wrong cave city. As you can tell from my photos there are plenty of watermelons during the festival. This is a three day event and people from all over the country come to participate. The towns population is only about 2000 so don’t expect a big city. I got spend last summer at this festival with my late Mawmaw. She loved Cave City and the festival. I went when I was a kid and enjoyed it just as much then. They have a car show, good band, fire works, lots of food, local and out of state venders. They have all kinds of nice gift shops. This really is a great thing to at least experience once. I will one day take my kid there to experience it as well. I have a lot of great memories of this place and the festival seems to get bigger every year. You can google their website and see the list of all the things going on. Hope this review helps you make a decision to at least try it once.

Entertainment was great. We were turned away from handicapped parking. There were clearly at least 20 spots open We have that tag because on my husband's second deployment to Iraq he became disabled. He served his country, this is sad. There is also this thing called Americans with disabilities act. So the act of turning us away, broke that one. Music was good
