One of the best farmers markets I have visited. Wide selection of items besides vegetables. Right now huge selection of mums and pumpkins! The cafe is great as well. Tried the beef tips n rice and sooo good. A great place!

It's a farmer style market that offers fresh produce, assortment of cheeses, wine, and candies. The best thing in the market is their chicken salad with apples and pecans. Its seasoned just right and I appreciate their salad is not heavily laden with mayonnaise. Every bite is filled with chicken, apples or pecans. Its affordable at $6.99 for a small and $11.99 for a large container. There is a small deli next door that offers brief daily specials, pizza, and an assortment of ice cream. On this day we tried the pork chops with 2 sides, sweet potatoe casserole, and fried okra. Also, the peach cobbler. The pork chops are not cooked to order and are pre-made, however, they were lightly seasoned and the meat was still moist. The sweet potato casserole was delicious with every sweet bite. The okra and corn bread was okay. The cobbler was made with a typical flour crust and sweetened with a hint of cinnamon. The food is affordable for the portions served and the plus is the food is home cooked.

A very nice little indoor farmer's market with a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables along with snacks, sauces, soups, and jams. Yes, they are pricier than most grocery chains, but it's nice to support local business's. The staff was very friendly.

Can’t believe I have lived in Shelby County for for over 20 years and not known about this place. If you are looking for local produce in season this place has it. Plus gulf seafood, local honey, local eggs from pastured hens, locally prepared food such as gumbo, cornbread muffins, dips, soups, pimiento cheese, and an outrageous selection of home made ice cream. There is an ice cream parlor there where you can sit and enjoy any of the many flavors. People are friendly and helpful.

I visited Burnette Farms Market & Cafe Saturday, August 3rd and purchased $100 worth of fruits, veggies and snacks. Cucumbers were one of the items I purchased. When purchasing them they were very cold (like they had been frozen) and wet. By Monday morning, they had burst and leaked all over my countertop. I went to Burnette’s today to make them aware of the problem and was told that they could not be accountable for the cucumbers nor issue me a refund. The older lady I spoke with was very nasty about the situation and stated that I may have left them in the hot car. First of all, I went straight home with them and if I did leave them in the car, I have a garage I park my car in. Second, I placed them on the kitchen countertop when I got home. They were hard and cold when I purchased them. It’s like no one at this store wanted to listen to me or acted as if they were concerned. If I were a white customer, I probably wouldn’t have been treated this way. This was a very bad experience as this was my first time shopping here. I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN THEIR DOORS AGAIN. I will continue shopping at the Farmer’s Market on Finley Avenue where my business is appreciated weekly.

Excellent food and friendly folks. The market has some of the freshest vegetables anywhere! If you want to eat at the cafe, get there early because everyone knows it’s the best home cooking in the area!

Prices were so high! I guess if you’re rich you can afford it but I won’t be back! I went to Walmart and got better looking squash than there’s!!!!!!!
