Went here on a whim because I was craving pizza. I was seated immediately and it was very busy, with a few parties going on. It was extremely loud from the music and the crowd, it couldn’t hear anyone talking to me. They have a cool menu of decently priced ‘different’ pizza flavors and some tasty bread and butters. They automatically add 21% tip to your bill. The server didn’t really check in, you need to call the server. This could be a cool place in the summer.

Bungalow is perplexing. For starters, the food is excellent. My wife and I came for Tavern Tuesdays and ordered a tavern style pepperoni pizza. It was great -- excellent, even -- probably one of the best representations of the style in the city. And 16 inches is a decent size.

Unfortunately, everything else about experience was lackluster. This seems to happen every time we go. We waited 15 minutes to be seated, despite arriving shortly after opening and viewing plentiful empty seats around the restaurant. Service remained friendly but slow from there, and the lethargy was never acknowledged by staff. In all, it took almost an hour from arriving until we ate, and all we ordered was one pizza and one beer.

Bungalow is also incredibly expensive for what it is. Our single pizza and single beer was $48 - $29 for the pizza, $7 for the beer, and an automatic 21.1% service charge (in our case, this came out to about $8.00).

Is Bungalow a good $50-for-two-items kind of place? No. Not even close. Not with the persistent service issues and astronomical prices. You'll get good food and good beer. But with some serious drawbacks.

Really excellent pizza and just a beautiful neighborhood spot, where I spent all day once working and wasn't harassed or asked to purchase more a single time. The dough is simply fantastic. I also really admire the way they run their business. Instead of having the arbitrary surcharge common at many nicer restaurants, they said they increased the price to keep up with rising costs which seems to me the logical thing to do! They're also really intentional about pointing out their mandatory service charge multiple times so you have full awareness.

We went here on a Sunday night, had a 5pm reservation made by Google. Super easy to get in, not as hard as people say. It was expensive.

We got bread to start with a sweet compote and a set of cheeses. The bread was the showstopper and it was worth it. The bread + cheese + Compote combination was all good! It made sense. I had a brut and my partner had a sour beer.

For pizza we got a Fungi pizza with a lot of parm on it. It was truffled as well. It was good but it was trying to be a wood fired Nepalese style pizza and fell a little flat. The crust at the top of the pizza was too thick. The burnt edges were good.

Bungalow is a great spot for pizza and beer. If you like Tavern Style I highly recommend coming in for their “Tavern Tuesday”. Cracker thin crust and I always really enjoy it. Servers are friendly and it’s a fun vibe overall. My only warning would be you may smell like a bonfire afterwards from the fire pits!

Great spot! Came with a group on a trip to Chicago. The music is loud, service was great. Group favs were the lager spritz, big salad, cauliflower pizza & sauerkraut pizza.

The pizza reminded me of Parlor Pizza. Delicious! The potato pizza was my favorite! Although the pizza was delicious I feel like this is trying to be an elevated pizza place. There’s not a full bar. No mimosas. Not really any drink specials for Brunch. I did have the wine with coke drink, very Spanish! It was good! If you’re in the area, sure, a good place for pizza but you’re neighborhood might be best to stay in and have pizza!

All I have ever heard were great reviews from Bungalow. What? I don't get it. My #1 choice for pizza is tavern style. Love New Haven and Neopolitan but crispy tavern style is the way to go. Bungalow only does tavern style on Tuesdays, and they open at 2 pm so I have to deal with the rush hour traffic coming from the south side. I wouldn't go back if I lived across the street. What a joke for thin crust tavern-style pizza. You could take a laser and cut a cracker in half and the cracker would still be thicker than their crust. Pizza is about the dough and Bungalow has none to be found. Sure it's crispy, but, utterly tasteless. The spicy sausage was OK but the crumble sausage was just horrible. The sauce was a heavy tomato paste with bad olive oil. I've been to hundreds of pizza joints and this was 1 of the worst tasting pizzas I've had. 1 size pizza for $28? Embarassing
