Fabulous "Old School" business. Incredibly helpful and friendly service.

I was there just to get a propane tank fill up, (and they were VERY inexpensive for this), and I couldn't help but gawk a bit at the variety of power equipment that I could see from the parking lot. I was later told, (see below), that they had been in business about 30 years, with about 25 years at that location.

Anyway, one of the employees saw me looking around, and caught me before I could get in my truck, to make sure there wasn't anything he could show me/give me a closer look at.

Amazing. And proof positive that that – in stark contrast to MANY businesses nowadays – NO WAY you're going to ever have to stand around at THIS business, wondering if anyone is going to come to your assistance.

Rented a Brute Turbo Jackhammer from them. Ran poorly from the get go. It only worked maybe 20% of the time. Kept vibrating instead of hammering. Eventually we gave up on it after about 2.5 hrs and finished the job in another few with sledgehammers. Mentioned my issues and asked for a refund. They told me they had to test it first. Of course it worked “fine” when they were testing it in the back. No refund, no “sorry we wasted your time”. Glad it seems Leadville will have a rental center soon so this place will have some competition. Virtually all of their equipment is worn out junk they charge a premium for.

This place has always been great and use them multiple times a month and will continue! Staff is always on it to help with everything throughout the process, and prices are super reasonable too. So thankful we have them in a small town, and appreciate you all at BVTR!!!

I rented a Bobcat from BV rental- was told not to drive the Bobcat off the trailer and to leave the chains underneath the trailer when I returned it. The woman charged me $30 and told me she would not have told me to leave it on the trailer. She is a liar and still charged me $30.

I have rented several pieces of equipment from this company in the past. I rented a plate compactor from this company on Saturday. I went to use it Saturday evening and it worked for about 5 minutes. They were closed for the weekendv so I called them within an hour of them opening on Monday to explain that the compactor didn't work. I was hoping they would work with me, being as their equipment didn't work, I had to rent another compactor from somewhere else. This pushed me back a day, along with the cost of the other equipment there. I was hoping to get the job finished this morning and now have to spend more money due to the fact I had to run the play compactor that didn't work back to Buena vista, as they were not willing to work with me.

From the beginning, John was short and argumentative. He attempted to start the machine, trying several different things. None of which worked.

All I wanted was my money back for a machine that did not work. I was refused a refund for their equipment that did not work, and told not to return. They didn't have to screw me out of my money. I would have let him borrow $100 if he needed it that bad.

*I just got response back from the better Business Bureau. They claim they put new fuel in it and it ran. Funny, the fuel that was in it was the fuel that came with it.

I had a great experience! I needed a floor sander for a quick project and the three women working were super helpful explaining my options, how to use it, and even loading it into my (very crammed with stuff) car. They charge a reasonable rate and are kind and honest. Highly
reccomend!

This is the first time I have ever written a review because I have always been able to communicate with the owner or manager to come up with a fair resolution for a problem.
I rented an mini excavator last week and in the process of using it the track came off of it twice. It was a real pain getting it back on laying in the dirt using the tools that I happened to have available. I understand that things break and that's just life, but the problem is with the owner who would not even apologize for the inconvenience or offer any discount on future rental or ANYTHING. His point was that when operating an excavator on rocky soil or hills that the treads come off all the time and it only takes him 15 minutes to get it back on. I have rented an excavator many times and NEVER had a track come off.
I now read in reviews that I'm not the only one that has had the same problem with the excavators.
PLEASE DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH PEOPLE LIKE THIS WHO DO NOT VALUE YOU AS A CUSTOMER!

The job I was on went longer then expected, and I needed a trencher for about a month. My thought was, no problem, surely there is a monthly rate.

I got gouged over $2700.00 for the month. I could have purchased a used one in better condition then the pile of crap I had the misfortune to use. I called and asked for the monthly discount and was told 'too bad'. What a cheater. I will never do business with this thief again. Beware!
