Pour your beer? Yup. At Big Ben Brewing you give you card and an ID they give you a point card that activates the taps. The tap measures what you pour and charges by the oz. Seems to work well but it was a surprise. They had 9 of their own beers on my stop. A dark mild, stout, Bock, dunkel, American IPA, NZ IPA, Golden, Hefe, and a cream. I sampled all 9 and they were solid. They also have 21 other taps from some great breweries that cover most beers styles. They also have wings, pizza and sandwiches. They have several games like shuffleboard, darts, etc. Doesn't end there...there is a distillery attached...which I did not try. The place is huge. They building is historic so if you like brick, concrete, and old wood and metal you will love the atmosphere and there are several areas you can sit. This place is worth a stop with a few friends.

Great food and a huge selection of beers. Being able to get a small sample or a full pour of beer at your own pace was perfect for sampling the many beers.

29 rotating beers on draft. Didn’t get to try the food from Fire on Fifth this time because they didn’t have it open. They have friendly staff and are helpful when it comes to choosing beer. They have a bar inside the serves from their distillery as well.
The way the draft wall works, is you pay for one of their cards and you pay as you pour. For example, you’d put the card in a slot above three taps and you pay from .20-.50 cents per ounce. And your card or whatever your paying with is charged at the end of your experience. Good place to sit with friends and chat.

Self serve taps are cool but a few were empty that I wanted to try and pizza was lacking flavor IMO. I could barely taste the Buffalo in the Buffalo chicken pizza. The cheese curds were good though. If I was local I would certainly go back but I’m not. Cool atmosphere also.

Very unique place to stop. Beautiful building huge inside. You pour your own beer which is cool but it lost something the interaction with the bartenders then still feeling like you have to tip when I served myself. Good bear though. A must try. The pizza looked good.

Excellent beer tenders, and the brewer we met was an equally friendly guy. I hate crowded nonsense, but if you come in here for a few samplers on a weekday afternoon you have the whole place to yourself. I live in Colorado and won't be returning anytime soon, but I'll be back the next time I visit humans in La Salle.
