We didn't see much salmon activity, but there were a few bald eagles nearby in the trees that were fun to watch and we happened to see a grizzly bear on the other side of the creek which was quite a delight.

This is a great place to view salmon. The park ranger at Exit glacier told us to come to this place to view salmon. In July this is the season for sock eye salmon.

We followed the Google maps directions and it took us to just the right place. It's easy to miss the place but keep an eye for Bear creek weir sign. This sign is outside a small wood cabin. On the left side of that cabin there is a stream where salmon flows.

It was such an experience to watch them - running against the water flow and jumping at the point where water level changes to get to the next level. Nature is truly magical.

Make sure you do check if this is salmon season at this place before coming.

The family and I had seen hundreds of sockeye salmon. There were commercial fishing companies that were taking salmon even tho they fisherman were not allowed to catch any. Seams unfair, but overall it was awesome to see all the fish.

Great place to see the salmon close to the road. Swing by in June-July to sneak a peek.
